Hell, the loss of Reno and Brann might make Grimy Goons decks viable.
The Goons suck more because they are way too slow against the current batch of aggressive decks. They might get better when the nasty shaman cards rotate out, but that's not accounting for whatever new aggro cards get dumped into the mix. The meta game will always be defined by the fastest deck.
alright guys, this is not going to be controversial, i think, but who knows.
knuckles should have charge.
maybe that will get one or two people to play hunter.
no?
yeah, you're probably right, no one will play him.
I play knuckles in a funny deck of mine just for laughs. Poor guy only has won one match, but my Opponent must have been wondering why his taunt Jade didn't work. Either that or dropped the taunt for the laugh.
I think what we're seeing is fundamental disagreements on "what makes a good deck", as I see people insulting decks as "easy". If there's clear mechanics, decks should be straightforward to pilot, and complexity should not necessarily be a reward. What makes Hearthstone popular is that it's mechanics don't have too many gotchas or incredibly weird edge cases for exploitation (yet).
Ultimately, as far as ethos, there's lots of different variants:
Some people just want to beat face and rush things down (aggro)
Some people want to flood the board with minions in a zerg tide (zoo/murloc)
Some people want to dominate the battlefield (board control - jade druid, dragons)
Some people want an answer for everything (control)
Some people like to shoot the moon (miracle/combo)
None of these are bad or wrong, nor better than the others. Being a control player does not make you a fundamentally better person than someone who plays board or zoo or miracle. It's something I see bandied about a lot, and it's really antithetical to the game model they're trying to build, as you saw 2 of the 3 tri-classes be minion focused as it aligns with more of the major variants and ways that people play. Control is great and all for those who play it, but it shouldn't be an autowin.
Play how you want, have fun, and accept that Blizz's balance team will never listen to you (go ask the shreds of the SC2 community how those discussions go)

The problem with SC2 was that they only listened to Zerg players for nearly a year.
The problem with SC2 was that they never properly engaged the competitive scene or hell, even had any real sign of sustaining it until they realized "oh shit, third party companies that invested in their own leagues are leaving because of reasons" and by the time they took control and created a proper league, a lot of the hype had gone away so the game didn't have a strong foundation to maintain a long-term audience engaged.
How does rotation work? Can we dust cards for full value? Or do they just go into Wild? Wasn't playing when the first rotation hit. Thanks for info.
The cards rotating out (Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament, and League of Explorers) become unavailable for use in Standard. The cards are moved to Wild and retain their dust creation/destruction values. If you plan on never touching Wild, feel free to dust away. If not, hold on to them, they might come in handy in future Tavern Brawls.

Weirdly enough, at my current terrible rank, Shamans never appear. Instead it's all Reno, all of the time. I've played ten games today. Five were Reno Mage. Two were Reno Warlock. One was Reno Priest. I've won exactly one of those eight games against Reno decks, and that was a matter of a huge amount of luck of the draw. I recognize that what I'm up against down here in the Bads is not representative of the overall meta, but I would LOVE to go up against Shamans right now.
Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.

While generally true, I wouldn't say that's absolute. Both Control Warrior and Handlock have been the defining metagame deck at various points in their life. And Combo Druid was the best deck with the highest winrate for a month or two a couple years back.

Thanks, when does rotation happen? Oh, and if they change cards in the classic set again, can those cards be dusted for full cost?
It'll happen this spring whenever the next expansion hits.
And yes, it's been policy that any nerfed cards can be dusted for full value.
Except for Mekgineer Thermaplugg. I'm still mad I didn't get full dust value for him after the nerf to leper gnome.
Also in case you didn't know once standard rotates you can dust your adventure cards if you like! Before standard it wasn't possible to dust adventure cards but you can now! You might be able to dust them now before the rotation but I'm not sure.

I've already dusted Majordomo, so yeah, you can dust standard-legal adventure cards.
Naaaaa. Plant overgrowth will definitely mess up a machine's electronics with water and moisture causing havoc on electrical systems. The more moisture the higher the chance that electrical wires won't be enough to maintain the electrical energy inside and could cause it to jump between wires, screwing things up royally, causing fires, etc..
It can also contaminate fuel and cause the engine to go nuts with all kinds of diluted chemicals trying to burn.

Ask the Jade Druid how they feel about aggro shaman or miracle rogue, for instance. I mean on some level I'm all for a more interactive game, but Blizzard also wants the game to be simple and games to be reasonably quick. They don't want every match to be 20 turns of intensely complex decision making on both sides. That's not only mentally exhausting, but I would say it's something that most players don't actually want.
As someone who plays Jade Druid, fuccccck Shamans.
Anyways, according to VSyndicate, it's not just Jade Druid - all the Druid decks crush the Reno decks. Ramp combo > durdle control. And they all get murderized by aggro decks at pretty much the same rate that they beat the Reno decks, which is where you expect combo decks to end up in the paper-rocks-scissors game.
And also, playing Jade Druid is hard. Maybe not as hard as the Reno decks, but it is absolutely not just play out all your jades in a linear fashion. Maybe Jade Shaman is easier - I don't know, I don't play it - but Jade Druid, like most Druid decks, absolutely keys off of ramping and/or going off with one of Brann/Fandral/Auctioneer, and it is not easy trying to balance board presence with hand explosiveness.
Gonna be super sad to see Justicar go. Might be enough to get me to play wild once in a while, actually.
edit: speaking of which, anyone rolling C'Thun anything these days? Might be my last chance for Justicar.

Well, I'm still playing a fair bit of C'Thun Druid, but that's not the sort of deck that runs Justicar :P

They just go into wild, no special refund.
(Also I'll be posting a longer response to the current debate much later tonight when I can get to my home computer)
