AC was the first MMO I spent a lot of time in, I played for years. I still have friends I made there who friended me on facebook to keep in touch.
It's a bummer, I wish they would keep mesh all the servers in to one and keep it open as long as it pays for itself. I would go back occasionally just for the nostalgia.

two handers 2tile range are an early game trap (although might be usable with quick hands? i dunno if quick hands let you swap from shield + 1hand to 2hand, i never tried)

The spearwall supported by ranged either leaning over them or scattering to the nearest hills is basically tactics 101 for medieval combat, so naturally that's mostly what I go with
i accidentally a word. but 2 tile range 2handers are good for back line (and crossbows/bows are good). but 2hand melee otherwise requires lots of defensive skill and good armor to make up for forgoing a shield, and without good offensive skill the extra damage output isn't that effective (because you are missing a lot). also i feel like the AP cost of 2hand is not well balanced but i haven't investigated that thoroughly.
the big thing i found when i cut out 2handers was i was making a lot more profit on doing stuff in the early game because i was having fewer deaths that required replacements, and fewer engagements where my 2handers armor got completely banged up and i had to spend supplies & time repairing those

I wasted like three years on projects that bore no fruit, and as a consequence, am worried I won't get to graduate anywhere near on time. I finally got a project that DID bear some fruit, easily, and did that over the last month or so of last year. He wanted me to spend winter break taking one last stab at the previous hypothesis that I wasted three years on. Defeat here means victory overall, as I can easily maneuver myself into something more manageable. The fact that I found a ghost of a result is like... good for science I guess, but kind of partially terrifying for me.
That guy has been one of my best friends since we were 13

I'm sorry things went that direction, but you didn't do anything wrong! You felt around a bit, and ultimately didn't feel comfortable enough coming out to him. That isn't a failure on your part.
