Do any NPCs hint at another location for a Great Fairy Fountain in a similar way to how you should find the first one? I've done a fair bit of exploring and have access to a great deal of the map but haven't heard a whisper of another anywhere so far. (A simple yes or no will do, I don't necessarily want to know the exact locations of them all.)
Between the carpenter guy headed that way and Robbie apparently being there, I decided to try going to Akkala region next. Did I take the road? No. Why would I do that. That is for quitters. I went off the back of Mt Ploymus, hopped over Lake Toto, and sailed my way right toward the tower.
I... think I wasn't supposed to be able to do this, maybe? Or else I couldn't find more eye monsters. I ended up getting up the tower by climbing up the inside of an arch where the top was covered in death goo, leaped across the arch to grab the other side, hauled myself up to a clean spot, and jumped across and over the caustic horror. This solution was so specific I think I might should have come along the road instead. I'm kind of curious how everyone else got this map!
Did another Minor Combat Trial, which feels like it means it's where I should be? Shot the eyeball as the guardian was preparing to annihilate me, which made it explode.
Found the Great Fairy, but because I just bought the house I didn't have 500 rupees. Time to sell more Prime Meat I suppose. I want more upgrades!
Looking back from the tower I saw another stable, which probably means another shrine is right there. Definitely should have gone by the main road...
God, that fucking tower.
I spent an HOUR casing it, trying to find a way up. I also ended up stumbling on some ludicrously contrived series of contortions that barely worked. I think it was different from what you did but I'm not sure I could replicate it if I tried.
Pretty sure I did the same thing Wyborn did
Cuz I noticed that there's a certain height that you HAVE to start climbing the tower at, because black goo blocks you at various points below it. So I looked around for the highest architecture around that wasn't covered in goo, and it's the arch that Wyborn is describing. I didn't have to leap across to the other side, but I did have to climb up the inside for a bit in order to get to the top of it.
Water Blight Ganon was unsettling. That did not look like something from a Zelda game.
I suppose he'd be at home in a certain haunted well.

I just realized as I was shutting down for that night that I didn't take a fucking picture and now I'm mad at myself
However the quests I did afterwards in Zora town gave me enough diamonds and money to buy all of the soldier and shiekah gear, and I got the fulll zora set too
I picked it up yesterday, and so I had it with me when doing the Goron Temple.
I finally quit messing around with side quests and went after the boss.
And he went down like god damn paper mache.
I know that having the sword made it go by much faster, but dear lord there was just no effort involved at all.
I'm gonna be honest; after how aggravating the bosses for the Zora and Gerudo temples were for me, that was cathartic as hell.
I think all the exploration I did to find shrines (to get enough hearts that I wouldn't get one-shot by seemingly every other enemy I encountered) ended up giving me equipment that was more powerful than you're "supposed" to have this early in the game (I was averaging about 20 power for all my weapons). Because the first proper boss I faced was not nearly as stressful as you made it seem.
Which is a nice change of pace from how my early game felt like a less punitive Dark Souls.
Yeah, the first two bosses have been super easy for me. I never needed to do anything special, really; just used whatever my best bow at the time was. The first one was probably a little less trivial than the second just because it had faster ranged attacks. Which I...wasn't literally immune to by way of shenanigans.
The inventory expansion dance may be my single favorite animation in any game, I'd have to think about it.

Apparently you're not supposed to fight the half-lion, half-horse, half-dude on top of the mountain in order to raid his shock arrows for the Zora's divine beast????
Kinda wish I had gotten the memo before I spent literally half of my day trying to get my parries on point while dying to him repeatedly
Holy shit it felt good to see him die though. That fight felt fucking hard in a way that I have not experienced in a video game for a very long, long time.

The way that quest is phrased (Zora area spoilers)
I thought I was supposed to aggro him and, like, dodge his lightning arrows so I could pick them up afterward.
But no, you're just supposed to pick up the ones lying around. Because even with a lightning resist potion any single hit from one of his arrows would kill me from full health.
I accidentally aggroed him during my escape and glided all the way to the dungeon area to get out of his range. So I'm sitting there catching my breath and taking in the scenery when out of fucking nowhere I get hit by one of those arcing shots he does that goes into the air and comes straight down on you. And I'm just like "holy shit, he can hit me from HERE?!" So I quickly retreat to a covered area nearby that just so happens to have a bed near it that I use to advance time and forcefully break the aggro.
i can basically just fly anywhere now if i want to but that means missin' out on all the little cracks and crannies you'd see if you travel the hard way
Yeah i currently have two stamina upgrades and probably just going to get one more and then do hearts. I don't want to be too good.
But its easily the worst running AAA game I've played in a long long time
this is a really bold claim, maybe you haven't played that many triple A games in the last two years
Fallout 4 dropping to 12-15 FPS whenever you aim down sights on console. The PC versions of Dark Souls, Tales of Symphonia, X-Com 2, Deus Ex MD, etc.
Yeah the slowdown in BotW bothers me from time to time, but it corrects itself fast enough that it's noticeable but not an overall detriment. Ain't no Blighttown.
Finally went and got a particular sword, so it's now time to crack open those dungeons.
I've only so far noticed big slowdown (to the point of hanging) while fighting some enemies on the way to Akkala Tower. It was during a high windstorm and there was a flying Guardian in the area, so that may be why.
Speaking of that tower:
Oh my god, that was a tricky one to reach. It's on the top of a mountain, it's patrolled by black blins and flying guardians, and the lower half of the tower is slathered in so much Malice goo that I expected to see a life bar appear reading "Aldritch".
It was super satisfying to make it to the top, though.

Question for somebody who has beaten the game
will I get another chance to take a picture of water blight ganon in like a late game boss rush thing or is that chance gone forever
Cause apparently this compendium thing is very important to me and I'm probably not gonna play this again after I beat it
Last night I fought a big Moblin Skeleton on a hill, in a thunderstorm. It felt incredibly cinematic. Every time he hit me, he took me to a quarter heart of health. I was about to just run away when I noticed his sword sparking. I jumped back, and he got blown the fuck up by a lightning strike, but he was still alive and reaching for his head. I walked over and executed that motherfucker and took his broadsword and felt just...really really great.
(then I noticed the sword sparking again and quickly unequipped it.)
okay so zelda makes reference to skyward sword, ocarina of time, and twilight princess
So... child timeline???
the one problem with that is that Zora history remembers Princess Ruto as the sage of water. And I think that only happens in the adult timeline of Ocarina?

...there are bosses in this game aside from Ganon? I've cleared like 27 temples shrines, expanded my inventory to 12 melee weapons, 8 bows, and 7 shields, and revealed 75% of the map. I have yet to fight a boss, unless you count combat trial guardians.

There are dungeons in the game yes
Also I'm going to assume you mean 27 Shrines, which are little mini-challenges

The dungeons have bosses (the shrines are not dungeons)

Holy shit this game is a delight.
If you've beaten two of the beasts, you're far enough along that you may as well go looking for where he lives.
Hint hint.
