Exchange 2013, Microsoft Outlook 2010 problem

deathnote666deathnote666 Registered User regular
I have a fresh install of Exchange 2013 on a 2012 R2 server.

When trying to setup Microsoft Outlook 2010 with a mailbox on that server, I get:
Cannot open your default e-mail folders. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance.

What still needs configured? Almost all of the settings are still at their defaults.

Thanks

Your Outlook client is on a different computer?

Where is that computer in relation to the Exchange server?

Do you have firewall rules set to allow traffic to Exchange?

    On a different pc.

    On same network.

Exchange 2007 exists on same network so fw shouldn't be an issue. Upgraing 2007 to 2013

Sorry, I meant the firewall on your new Exchange server.

FW settings should be the same. The FW is being controlled by the anti-virus. Both exchange 2007 and 2013 servers are using the same brand of AV.

Set cached exchange mode in Outlook to whatever it currently isn't set to (If it's on, shut it off, if it's off turn it on).

Also, we totally have a sysadmin thread you can ask in there and hang out and bitch about sysadmin stuff.
