I lived half my life in Mexico, and 5 de mayo is treated something like Veteran's day.
I mean, shit, yea we kicked the French out from Puebla, but the Americans came and stormed our castles, held the capital and a lot of the major cities, and took our womenz.
It can be but it can also be done in a perfectly legal albeit morally corrupt manner.
However, even if it is illegal what the shit can a poor person do about it? Not much legal recourse when you can't even feed yourself.
So what you're saying is that the people who have the power to make things change for the better are responsible for making the sacrifices they need to make to ensure justice for all people, including those who are too weak to take care of themselves.
Take that shit to the Spider-Man thread where it belongs.
Coincidentally, one of my best friend's 21st birthday is also on Cinco de Mayo. I told him that he needs to go into a bar in the Mexican part of town and shout, "Es mi cumpleaños!" and he'll be taken care of.

Well, once you have a global empire there just isn't that much else to do as a nation.

Katchem_ash is using vegans to justify animal cruelty in G&T.
Please don't say that kind of shit here.
Because then I want to look.
And then I want to post.
And I really, really should not post outside of SE++, unless maybe it's a thread in H/A about "how do I tell if my local karate school is total ripoff bullshit?"

Aside from ruling the world with higher education and ripped abs. That's pretty cool, and it's also pretty sustainable.

It was kind of just a little post in a long topic, but just the way its written is magical.
Well, he's right. I hate those fucking vegens. (They're worse than vegans!)
Also he does have a pretty decent point; people are morally repulsed by the idea of killing a living thing in order to continue their own lives, but they have no problem killing and eating plants in vast quantities, despite that plants are categorized as being alive.

I'm pretty sure a central nervous system makes a pretty big difference.

Keep deluding yourself, nobody cares what a halfway-through-college kid who's just barely not a teenager thinks. You know who gets listened to? Old people. You know why? The old-person population is not "generally apathetic" in the sense that they actually vote instead of bitching for ten minutes and forgetting about it so they can get back to getting drunk.
You mischaracterize younger cohorts' capacity to enact sweeping change. I'm not saying this as some protesting hippy, I'm saying it based off precedent and as a political science authority. Really, the social glue that's holding the EU together right now is the younger cohorts. In another aspect, the digital revolution has fostered almost entirely within the youth cohort in America, while Europe fails to see such innovation due to the dominance of the academic sphere by the older, more reactionary elite who view youth innovation as a threat. (to sort of counter my argument, I guess...) I'm not going to argue about youth efficacy beyond this post. I've taken too many classes dealing with this shit to make me want to recycle it here on a penny-arcade forum.

Of course the whole thing was stupid bullshit, which I made extra-dumb because Callius sometimes enjoys it more when I make it more silly, but this is still good and interesting.

t defender: Hey dude, if you're going to say something that directly contradicts material I've spent countless all nighters pouring over, you can't tease me for simply playing devil's advocate. I wasn't really disagreeing with you. The kind of "youth involvement" you're talking about probably is quite worthless. I was just pointing out that the youth do, in fact, have quite a large impact on many social/political/economic issues.

Yeah, it really is very shaky, because we're not photosynthetic, so you basically have to draw an arbitrary line somewhere or starve to death.

What is in a photobagel? In its liquid state, that is.
it's a drink I made up and named with the help of the forums
2 parts sprite, one part gin with ice
