If you don't already, once you get to Plankerton, you realize how slow, sparse Stonewood is (barring high level outpost defenses which are still fun since you're just cutting your way through waves of mobs).
I would encourage anyone hitting difficulty with those tedious quests, to just start pinging PA people to help and do private games. Though admittedly it's hard to tell who is PA if you've got other people on your list.

You should be able to craft+apply a trap in one action by targeting a ceiling/wall/floor and hitting the trap button. just basically allowing you to build them on the fly like structures
Needing to go into a menu, craft a trap, then come back out and put the trap down is stupid busy work
I've been tossing stacks of stones and planks away. Unless later iterations of traps require significantly more of them, I expect that trend to continue.
I did this to save backpack slots and I'm now regretting it. I've started upgrading and using traps and now my main bottleneck is planks and rough stones. Nut&bolts is easier to farm than the other stuff it seems.

Well, just helped a mate with Storm Shield 8 on Stonewood.
It get's very hectic and you better have leveled up your character so that you have as many abilities as possible.
I was happy with my Soldier with Going Commando and Shockwave, and the Weapon Drone and Air Strike gadgets...
Thank god for my burst assault rifle so that I only used about 3500 bullets.
He wants to do Storm Shield 9 tomorrow evening, but then he noticed that he has to place another amplifier. And there are 3 amplifier spots... So Stonewood 10 is "build 2 amplifiers" defend everything?
I better see I am stuffed to the brim with ammo and extra wood/steel/nuts&bolts for crafting even more ammo...

Is this one the one that is worth rolling on? Or is it just full of defenders...
It can roll any "person" so Heroes, Survivors, Leads, and Defenders. If rarity is important to you and you have a broad group of npcs already, I'd just wait for a 1000 vbuck llama. That said, if you need to fill just any slots, it's probably a good idea. Note there should be specifically llamas just for survivors or heroes, so if you're aiming specifically for a type of person, you may want to wait.
I have been informed that maybe my Copper Laserblade.. is not doing Energy Damage? And if it is.. why would I want to change it to Fire? is that not a downgrade?
good rounds, @SutibunRi and @doomybear thanks for helping me binge a few quests and getting the vbucks for the people llama.
while that one was garbage, it gave me enough founders points for a founder llama with an epic founders wasp that is pretty decent.
as for your sword.. fuck if i know, now... I was under the assumption it just did normal damage and it was called a lasersword since that's the base name of epic energy swords in the collection book.
it says it deals energy damage, but I have no idea if it just straight up flips the damage to fire or if it adds energy -and- fire so you just murder nature and do middling to water...
a quick cursory glance at other forums show that others are just as curious as you are about it.
from the epic forums, this is something and where I got the idea about even though its a high tech weapon, it only dealing regular damage.
also... don't get a hard on for metal either...

Elemental damage has a strength against one type of enemy and a weakness against another, a bit like rock-paper-scissors. I won't quote all the percentages because it may have changed since I last checked, but:
Nature is strong against water, weak against fire.
Water is strong against fire, weak against nature.
Fire is strong against nature, weak against water.
Elemental husks also do different damage to structures depending on the type.
Nature is strong against metal, weak against wood.
Water is strong against brick, weak against metal.
Fire is strong against wood, weak against brick.
So-called energy damage is basically a wildcard. It's not as strong as the "strong" element against a particular husk, but it's not weak against any of them either. This makes it pretty useful in weapons, because you run into problems trying to slot as many weapons as you need for multiple elements plus short vs. long range. (Weapon loadouts would help, if you could switch between them efficiently for different battles.)
Note that "energy damage" is not the same as "energy rounds". By default, weapons like lasers don't do elemental or "energy" damage; they need a perk for that like other weapons do.
I got a legendary RPG earlier and immediately put it to use against encampments. Still don't know what I'm doing, but it felt good to blast that floaty ghoul thing right in its teeth.
This might be a dumb question, but when you level up a schematic does it increase the level of crafted items in your inventory? Or only ones you craft going forward?
Bought a people llame, clapped my hands as it turned silver, went mad as it turned gold, got two legendary lead explorer survivors out of it... (I already have a mythic lead explorer survivor)...
But it contained a purple Assassin Sarah too so that was nice
Yeah the people Lama seems okay but I tried one and got a bad roll. Have done a lot better with The upgraded lama this morning before work pulled a copper bolt bolt a husk cleaver and mythic survivor.
Joined a friend of mine in Canny Valley for a high end mission. So many husks we had serious lag problems. Shit was wonky. Their own servers couldnt handle that many attacking at once.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
pulled a mythic outlander from one of the hero boxes last night, along with a couple good survivors and such.

Man I am not far into the game and I feel like the skill trees, research, menus and looting are just WAY TOO MUCH and I'm probably making terrible decisions with regards to what I keep and what I trash.

The thing that's really weirding me out so far is that I feel like you bypass the lower rarity stuff so quickly that even inside of a couple days I've completely sprinted past green and often blue stuff.

first and foremost- greens and greys are not items for you to use.... think of them as mats or xp. break them down.
maybe keep 1 green weapon you like... that way you always have a cheap favorite to craft in a jam.

Yea i managed a founders llama pull of an epic wasp as well.
It was a damage type (not energy unfortunatly), -16% durability decay and +105% crit damage.
Base crit is 19%, base crit damage 75% so every fifth bullet will explode a zed.

Yeah, I am pinched on Rotating Gizmos, so I have been using green recipes for easier content. But, I think I'm pinched on Rotating Gizmos mainly because I've been helping my boyfriend through the beginning of Stonezone? They may be more available later on.

Thanks guys, another question: when you "get" a weapon you're actually getting the schematic.... so if it breaks you just craft another? Do you always craft them at 100% and they wear down at different rates?

No you're either getting a weapon or the schematic. not both. weapons you get from searching things and sometimes rewards from missions, schematics you get from llamas
It feels like my hero library is very bare. I have a couple blue heroes who aren't great, and then a bunch of green heroes, and I'm not sure if I should be wasting xp on any of them. Is the people llama the only way to unlock new heroes?
Like, this is all I have after opening all of the founders llamas and two people llamas, and recycling a few duplicate greens.

Upgrading walls and floors eats materials super fast, I wish I could hold multiple stacks of metal and stone.

I bought one and got 6 survivors and a green hero out of it. Wasn't anything too special, but more survivor variety is nice.

i have a favorite pistol and a Outlander slotted that buffs that pistol damage by like 20%.
not a bad way to go....
I got one like that but with one +Damage replaced with headshot damage. Got it to level 10 so I'll craft it today.
