I don't see why I can't manage my backpack from the menu. Why do I have to go into a mission/stormshield just to get rid of shit?
Not sure how I feel about the resource cost of a lot of traps. I'm starting to get more adhesives and such, but I constantly feel like placing traps is a waste. Just shooting them is a hundred times more effective. That's a pretty shitty feeling in a tower defense game.
Hopefully later difficulties encourage a little more trapping. And hopefully I can figure out a way to get enemies to path the way I want instead of just attacking my defenses.
evolution is amaze balls when you get to two stars and have multiple skills you feel ready as the challenge ramps up. just follow the skill tree and you cant miss it.
Support heros allow you to equip you other heros for stat gains. Thats a significant boost as well.
Thats balanced by beefier zombies and the inclusion of rumblers and takers.
Fuck takers forever

Okay, levelled up the Collection to the 13 reward, it transformed into a Gold Llama, and out popped a Mythic Lead Survivor (why), but also an Epic Ninja Hero.
This game very quickly went from "I only have one hero and one good weapon schematic, but I'm still having tons of fun" to "...look at all these shiny things and oh god I don't nearly have enough shit to level them all up right away D=".
Are V-bucks something I should be using on a 10+1 pull or hoarding incase... I don't know... gacha cashgrab shenanigans?
Nothing's guaranteed from it, from what I read. Mine turned out well, but I think that's just throwing sheer numbers at the RNG in terms of whether the Llama will upgrade or not.
So it's not really any different from buying individual 100 V-Cost Llamas, except you're getting 1 free one out of the bundle. You can also wait until it rotates to see if there's a 350 V-Cost item-specific one that's more appealing.

Traps really aren't needed for the bulk of the first zone. They're really there to buy you time for your own weapons and to finish off something that's made it past your defenses. Save your resources and do less farming in my opinion.
Pathing is pretty easy. The AI tends to take the path of least resistance; this is largely true to me up to a certain distance maybe 3-ish blocks from a straight path to their objective.
A few things help with forcing a path from my xp:
1) Not trying to force a path too far from that straight line from their spawn to their objective
2) Leaving a relatively open path to the objective i.e. all walls around the objective. There are exceptions to this, but if you want them to follow a path, leave few blockages, and then you can trap to you hearts content
3) Once you have a path, add additional segments to the block to discourage them. These don't need to be upgraded sometimes. For example, Don't just put a wall, drop a half floor behind it (which has a short wall attached to it, and then for good measure drop a stairway or pyramid angled outward to the wall.
4) If you have a straight path, might as well put some short, half wall segments (-1 square on the 1x3 low wall)) alternating sides. This forces them to travel longer for any 1 block. Alternatively, drop some of those half floors and half/low walls and force them to travel in a straight line. Note that sometimes this gets them out of their comfort range, and you may need to switch sides.
If this doesn't make sense, just friend me and pop into one of my games or ping me and I'll be happy to show.

Nothing's guaranteed from the upgrade llamas. That said, some 1000 vbuck packs do guarantee at least 1 purple+ card (I want to say gold+ i forget). While you are still at RNGs mercy, if you wait for a ranged pack, hero pack, survivor pack, or people (hero and survivor) pack, you can at least guarantee a certain class of thingy. Note once you unlock recycling, you can feed a bunch of existing recipes into the meat grinder to try to RNG a better recipe.

Oh, there are different 1000 vbuck packs?
Well okay, I guess my next saving is towards one of those then.
i too thought building and traps weren't any good in the first zone. traps still aren't vital yet but they are pretty useful and i often wind up with a bunch of random traps from finding them in chests/rewards/etc. so i'll throw them down
i was worried about the difficulty but the second zone seems to be getting more difficult. although sometimes a lot of the difficulty comes from herding randoms
yea, they definitely need to add in access to the inventory and storage from the main viewing page.
In other games, I like to build my weapons and knickknacks from there, know what I have going into a mission, and then deploying from there. Also being able to assess what might be the better trap or weapon without being pressured by randos in getting through the tutorial stuff.
I'm sure the homebase creation has a bit more breathing room though.
Getting the collection book level to 13 gave me a special llama that changed to gold, and I got a Mythic Ninja out of it. I feel super lucky, he seems pretty damn good.
You can set your privacy settings by hitting esc and going to friends thingy. Its Open, invite only, and friends. And you can enable friends of friends joining.
Not being able to use heroes you find until you unlock them in the skill tree sucks. I unlocked using outlander but havent found one, but got a ninja but can't use it until I unlock ninja leadership.

Ah, I was wondering about those skills since I got the founder ones and can use them right off the bat.
As someone who went with the minimum $40 buy in, it feels like a game that I could enjoy if not for the F2P mechanics that hobble my experience. I'm only power level 4 so perhaps that feeling might change later, but not even having a character for all the classes yet does not sit right with me for the given investment.
I feel the opposite. There's plenty to find and loot and I like that the classes are unlocked slowly along with quests for them. They give you a character of the class as you unlock them on your research grid along with a bunch of quests for them to learn their abilities and give you even more free stuff. The F2P mechanics are no worse than they were in Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare and I don't feel limited by them at all. This is the first game in years I've played for 8 hours straight. I think it's absolutely fantastically fun BUT I'm still in the first area.
The one thing I don;t like about it are the various tasks where they tell you you'll need extra people.
I kind of like to play Jess the outlander and run around smash things and focus on finding the good loot, but if it's not shared it's more like Ninja Looter the class.
I've used my Loot-O-Vision to spot several epic chests in houses without entrances to the chest rooms though, so it's a useful class.
Its not shared, but you can drop what you find if others need it. I like to run around gathering things then traps and materials so Viking can build up the bases. I really have fun with Outlander now that i've leveled her a bit. The Bear turrets are great.

Two mins left in a solo 9-rated data retrieval map and one of those giant mobs charged through the side walls of my defenses and went apeshit inside before I killed it. Went down twice from the mobs swarming the breech but still managed to save it.

Some of the mechanics, particularly the research gain, give me bad F2P/P2W vibes. I know this is going F2P on full release, but there are plenty of games that do that successfully without being so yucky about it.
There are pages they took from Clash of Clans here, and it's not encouraging.

I thought research gain was pretty okay. It's just a constant that you get from not playing/playing the game. Similar to how EVE handles skill learning, but instead of looking at one skill with x points, you have a bunch a points to go spend in whatever skills. I've never really played Clash of Clans, but there's a lot of pages from a lot of other games that they took here, Mass Effect and Overwatch being a couple.
Some of you may be having difficulty progressing past outpost missions (building or defending).
Do not use your outpost storage during an outpost mission (whether you are just visiting or defending it) as it causes the progress loss issue. Once the issue is resolved and we update this thread, feel free to use your Outpost Storage.
We are working on tackling this now. If you are experiencing anything like this, please respond with your account name or direct message myself, or any other members of the community team.
UPDATE: We have pushed a potential fix for this issue, but please inform us on Twitter/Forums if you continue to experience this issue!
I finally got enough tokens to get the 11 llamas. Sooo much loot. Soooo many heroes now. Way better now, I felt like I was getting really outpaced by the difficulty compared to my characters, but with a legendary axe (Got two of them, able to add one to the book) and two amazingly good ranged weapons I feel like im tearing through 5 and 9 difficulty stuff. Still only in the first area, but having a lot of fun with it.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
My storage only has 5 spaces and my backpack has 65. I thought I was supposed to get a huge storage? I got the limited edition founder pack.
If you mean the 100 storage you got, that was probably the max number of schematics you can have rather than base storage (which can be slowly upgraded in the skill tree)
So I played the Soldier. But then I was charmed by the quicker/cheaper building of the Constructor. And then the quicker and better harvesting of the Outander.
But that Ninja Double Jump is so so so awesome and useful...

That was a decent 1000 V-Coins purchase, though I believe part of that was being lucky with the Gold Llama upgrade.

More than that, the 3rd pack can change to other things. Recently it was a 350 (250?) vbuck single pack, but was focused on ranged weapons.
