Oh wait, I'm a fool, I have to stay awake for at least a couple hours, because...
    Welcome to SpaceX Mission Central

A few days ago, I promised you a weekend of rocket launches. It was meant to be ULA with an Atlas V launch on Friday, SpaceX out of the East Coast on Saturday, and then SpaceX out of the West Coast today.

Well, SpaceX's Saturday launch has slipped until Wednesday, ULA's launch has slipped until either Thursday or Friday at the earliest, but SpaceX's West Coast launch stands firm at 5:37am Pacific, 8:37am Eastern, 12:37 UTC today! That is to say, less than two hours from now!

An image from yesterday, showing the Falcon 9 with booster stage B1041 standing proud on the launch pad at Launch Complex SLC-4E:

    DLpJZ_2UMAA1_wP.jpg

Today's launch is SpaceX's 14th launch on the year, and their third for Iridium's satellite constellation. The launch will carry 10 more satellites into 625km x 625km polar orbits as part of SpaceX's contract to replace Iridium's old constellation of satellites with brand new state-of-the-art spacecrafts.

The total payload mass is 9600kg for today's launch (10 satellites x 860km + 1000kg payload dispenser), giving the Falcon 9 plenty of margin to attempt a landing downrange on the autonomous barge Just Read The Instructions.

We are currently 1 hour and 40 minutes out from the launch, with 90% favourable launch conditions forecasted for T=0. I'll keep you updated with live stream links as they become available, and I'll be here from now until mission completion to answer any questions, queries, quandaries or quibbles you might have!

The Press Kit for today's launch.

Nah, I've hit a point where I can handle the Ottomans alone

And I'm going for the achievement where I reestablish the old Mongolian borders, so I'm at war with Russia now

Their military ideas and tech are pretty bad, so I'm getting stackwipes pretty easily

Probably the hardest part of this war will be fighting their Austrian ally — they hit absurdly hard, but then again they only have ~40k soldiers

you know it's a shame taking provinces is so different from what it was in earlier versions of the game. attrition is sort of meaningless these days.

I remember a few Russia games where I basically invited everyone into my house during war and just let them bleed men and then swarmed them. over and over again.

The Democrats would be completely discredited. Critics would always be able to point at the failed impeachment and harp about the witch hunt that failed.

The status quo, you mean. The stakes are high for when the party trying to impeach the there fails, except it isn't as clear cut as when the GOP went after Clinton. The Uk spy guy? Originally hired by the GOP to get dirt on Trump. Mueller? Republican.

Unfortunately the country, and the world, can't afford Trump to be in office a second longer than he has to. That's why it's important to try, even if they fail.

My statement wasn't about the virtue of impeachment proceedings, but about why it is so unlikely that anyone would bring them forward.

Maybe. Truth to be told, months ago I wouldn't believe we'd be where we are now with a GOP politician only condemning trump or his SOS calling Trump a moron in the press. Or that we have a Mueller, the person responsible for bringing Trump down from the outside with the reputation and competence to do it - and he's a Republican. Or the James Comey debacle. There is hope for the GOP seeing the light yet.

This is also early days, things are going to get a whole lot worse until they pull the trigger on an action like that.

yeah we're not even a year into this presidency

    eventually

Japan, even though we're uncivilized, has a higher literacy than Russia. Which means that when we do westernize I'll be able to catch up and then out perform Russia in tech. I fully intend on taking the entirety of Manchuria at some point and pushing Russia off Sakhalin to the North when I can.

Currently I'm pondering if I should invade and annex Dai Nam since their only ally is Burma and I could honestly use more states in the later parts of the game if I want to be strong enough to basically take S.E. Asia as mine and kick the Brits out.

Actually if you're good enough you can use the humiliate and cut down to size wargoals to basically screw them majorly cause after that they'll start to get some massive rebellions because of how many soldiers are out of work because the UK lost a war.

If a rebellion works then the UK loses all of it's sphered nations and the other AI nations start to gang up on them.

Russia, in my EU4 game, managed to recover from the triple whammy of multiple simultaneous wars, overextension, and Revolution disaster and now looks poised to remain a Great Power

It is now Jerusalem's duty to remove these misguided schismatics from their rulership over Persia

Amtrak is a vastly superior experience to budget plane travel when available; it might take a little longer but I dont feel like a criminal when approaching the station, and my cellphone and iPad just work without having to pay for garbage teir internet service.
