huh, that only applies to the digital version, right? I mean the music would still be on disc?

I've been playing Ashen and Rebel Galaxy. Enjoying both so far. Ashen has a bunch of achievements worth 17 points though... namely, most of them. It's such a weird choice.

No, you will get a patch to pull out the music when you turn the game on.

I wouldn't mind having an achievement score that didn't end in 0 or 5 if the score had commas in it. Like instead of 234434 it was 234,434

Something so at a glance you can read the actual number, instead of it just looking like a long indecipherable jumble

One more reason why trophies are the superior tracking method. I guess since the last time I posted I finished skyrim for the third time, and am almost done with the platinum for darkest dungeon. It is grueling but satisfying and the platinum is almost within my grasp.

Trophies are the wh— that’s like, your opinion, man!

Wouldnt want a comma (or periods in some places) in the score. gotta rememember that 6 digit scorers are still somewhat rare, and it’d look off center for 4/5ers and even 7 digit scorers, who’d have 2.

The off 5s are only annoying when they make 1 point achievements with disproportionately time consuming or bad requirements (or pre-reqs) like beat the game on its hardest difficulty and defeat the ultimate boss also none of this is available until your fifth playthrough and you can only use starter weapons and cutscenes are still unskippable. :|

Overcooked has a 1 point achievement for basically starting the game, and a 199 point achievement for three-starring every kitchen.

    No thank you.

Or they do the trap the other way around! lol... looks like that one isnt hidden though so you know what you’re getting into.

I reckon off-fives are a psychological thing, kind of like how they take the penny off to make a thing seem like it’s cheaper. These try to compel you to complete the game fully.

Though, Ive found games to off-5 with in order to get to get palindrome or streak scores in the past. Really kind of just drifting lately. Might pick it up to hit 222222 as a score, I missed 202020...

My achievement score ends in 3 because of Halo 3 and some of its multiplayer gimmicky map-specific stuff, and it will never be resolved.

So I finally got all of the trophies for Citizens of Earth, which wasn't too hard but the game started getting really boring toward the end. Earthbound it aint.

I also got the platinum for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round finally.

Just got my darkest dungeon platinum. What a damn game. Much like Xcom it is brutally difficult right up until you figure out what works and then it is just a matter of careful application of various flavors of cans of whoop ass. Took me almost 2 years exactly to get it as well, I think that is my longest gap. Now on to something less stressful, I am thinking about deus ex: mankind divided.

I almost totally fell off trophy hunting in any serious capacity, but I do still go out of my way to get them from time to time if I really like a game. I'm working on Spiderman currently, which is definitely getting Platinumed. I also like grinding away at the infinite trophy list for Zen pinball/pinball fx 3. They're all bronze trophies and they're mostly all brutally difficult and there are so damn many of them.

Mankind Divided is a fairly easy one, and was enjoyable enough.

My wife and I were Overcooked machines so 3 starring everything ended up being mostly crazy easy for us.

As for last night I am working on mopping up trophy lists I've had hanging out there. Last night I got the platinum for Batman Season Two and got all of the trophies for Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap.

What is your wife's video game proficiency in general? I would love something for us to play together but she is not really into video games that much.

I got the platinum in Darkest Dungeon and thanks to the last patch in No Man's Sky I finally got the platinum in it as well. Two in a week is pretty nice. Working on Deus Ex Mankind divided which is really good.

My wife isn't really into video games at all. She likes puzzle games mostly and pretty much plays a ton of Tetris and Dr. Mario. She really liked Overcooked though and enjoyed the cooperative aspects of it. Her and I worked through that like a well oiled machine. We are currently working on getting the updated fourth star on each mission on Overcooked 2. She is actually pretty decent at video games, she just doesn't enjoy most of them.

While it can be a fantastic couch co-op game, it is a case of....well, everything you're doing is the same..just increasingly harder and more stressful.

A good type of stressful. Unless you don't like it. I 3-star'd the first chunk of the game by myself, but it'd be hard convincing other people to play with me I suspect, especially since other couch co-op games are readily available via backwards compatibility.

As for the number problem...my solution was to play some of Mad Max. Which is a surprisingly good game in its own right!

But more important, it has achievements worth 4 points.

Finished the singleplayer achievements of GTAV. Looking at my Social Club checklist I ended up doing almost everything possible. My biggest complaint(s) about it would be that heists are limited instead of being its own odd job. Trevor. That Franklin is not provided as easy a way to increase strength like M & T (he can't play tennis and in spite of scenes showing him working out, he can't actually do it.) Activities (movies, amusement rides, golf, etc.) are, as in GTAIV, few and far between. TV shows don't switch/update more often. (GTASA radio is still the gold standard for variety and following the narrative.)

I'll see about fucking around in GTAO, but if they threatened to remove music a la IV tomorrow, I'd be satisfied with the gamerscore/completion percentage.

Finished the story for The Raven. Missed four achievements and will mop them up tomorrow.

It's alright as far as point-and-click adventure games go. I don't know about other versions, but the 360 edition had some control issues and more than a few bugs. The autosave helped on one or two that literally prevented progression (one simply had the PC just turn around forever because they couldn't 'find' the trigger point for the action animation) and a couple of times some characters' jaws would just kind of...spin...in their skull as they spoke.

Not great, but a relatively easy 400gs with the 'DLC'. It probably took me about ten or so hours to play.

So I started my second play through of Deus Ex Mankind Divided. I spent quite a bit of time in the first run through trying to get Foxiest of the hounds, but one of the early missions bugged. Then on my NG+ run it happened again. This time I had a save fat enough back to just skip that bit. Honestly though the game bugging out and costing me that trophy soured me a bit. Still a good game. Should get the platinum in the next few days.

1000/1000 for Q.U.B.E. 2. Like the first game, there were a few missables I made sure to research before starting it up.

The game is a Portal-esque first person puzzle game. Aside from a tricky puzzle or two, it was a painless five hours to play through the whole thing.

  • Santa ClaustrophobiaSanta Claustrophobia Ho Ho Ho Disconnecting from Xbox LIVERegistered User regular
So, yeah. Replaying The Raven to pick up the las achievements was mote frustrating with the bugs, clunky movement, and one minigame that I did worse on.

One achievement is unlocking all the extras and using in-game hints lowers the points you earn to unlock them. However, the game is easy enough without the hints and if you can increase the brightness on your TV or monitor then you should be okay since if you do everything, you end up with far more points than needed.

If you have an interest, wait for a sale.

It is also the sixty-first game to 100% and the first on since July of 2017. I want to try and play more, but my unstable internet still makes me leery.

I'm in a weird place with achievements. I still need to finish my second run of Ashen on its "lol" difficulty setting, but I don't feel like it. Then I have a bunch of other games with long tail achievements that I also don't really feel like popping or progressing.

The last game I completed was... The Station, apparently. I forgot I did a palate cleanser near the end of December. Was okay.

I still need to start Fallout 4 one day.

Bethesda's decision to not include any sort of morality system, because who wants complexity in their fallout games, really cuts down on the necessity of multiple playthroughs. You can basically do every faction right up to its penultimate mission then save and do each faction, reloading as you finish each one. I guess you could make 5 or 6 characters, I can't remember how many endings, but I don't think the game holds up well enough to make that enjoyable.

Deus ex mankind divided surprised me. I was not expecting a microtransaction heavy game that I would need to play through for the platinum. No way I am going to pay actual money so I hope my luck is good enough to get me through.

Oh? On the one hand, getting rid of the karma system made sense ... I mean, I forked saves in the old one just so I wouldn't have to reroll. On the other... kinda bummed they took that out.

Saving and reloading factions is basically what I did for New Vegas, once you get to the branching points. I just... haven't gotten around playing it.

If you haven't looked into yet, be prepared for a massively pared down game compared to the earlier ones. They took how simple skyrim is and made it even simpler. But hey, voice protagonist and like 4 speech checks in the whole game are worth it I guess.

I was reading and the RNG can kind of screw you depending on what drops you get from just progressing normally. There is zero chance I give them any money so hopefully I don't have to do any grinding or anything.

And SquareEnix have me good and fucked. Apparently some time back in September they fiddled with their servers and now it will randomly keep people from being able to connect. Seemingly permanently. So no breach mode means no platinum trophy. Going to keep it installed and try but it has been 3 days so far. Pretty disgusted with them right now.

1000/1000 The Assembly, which is a quintessential example of "VR game that without VR is completely playable and serviceable, but not that special." Granted, with VR, once you got bored of looking at furniture you'd probably realize the same thing. I've mostly been playing on PC lately, which is murdering my trophy hunting. Big project right now is RDR2 which, um, eeeeeeeh on 100% that really. Though I did knock out some of the harder MP challenges like get MVP 3 times as soon as multi opened. but haven't really touched the game in a while.

Instead I'm plugging away at Beat Saber which feels like an impossible plat.

So Deus ex decided to start behaving. Got into breach mode and actually knocked out a few trophies. Just need to finish the 2nd and 3rd tiers and I will have my Platinum. Probably going to get in guacamelee after that. Watched a speedrun during AGDQ if the second one and it looked like a blast.

Finally earned the Platinum in Deus ex mankind divided and picked up a few of the free dlc trophies as well. Breach mode became way easier when I discovered the bug that lets you get effectively infinite energy. Overall a pretty good game. Shame SquareEnix put the kabosh on the series. After watching the second one be speedrun at AGDQ I downloaded Guacamelee for my next game.
