I think they needed an extra villain in there to help demonstrate how Peter's becoming more evil, but it didn't really work with Sandman because they tried to characterize him too much. Someone like Shocker or the Rhino, someone with basically no personality, really just there to be a threat, would have been more fun.
And, y'know, guy in a quilt, or a guy in a big rhino suit? Awesome.
Cool thing I noticed and I expect everyone else did: nice little lizard skeleton in the background in Doc Connor's lab... oooooh...
I thought this was already done pretty well with a villian when
He went and messed up Harry's face. They really made it look like he took a lot of satisfaction out of being pretty evil there.

For a moment, I thought he had actually killed him.
Interesting to see how a lot of fans have adjusted pretty well to the New Goblin suit and gear. I suppose seeing it in action tears away that 'xtreme' vibe the initial screenshots gave off. It helps too that the Sky-Stick's possiblly a homage to the original Goblin 'glider' from the comics.
ANYTHING would have been better than the fucking Power Rangers suit from before.

Isn't the Spidey suit a Power Rangers suit, too?
Well... the helmet was lame in the first movie. The actual suit was pretty cool.

That did the trick for me.
How powerful are those goblin grenades anyway? One goes off inside Venom and it atomizes the symbiote and Eddy, another manages to blow a chunk out of Sandman Rex, but when one goes off next to Harry's head it only gives him a nasty scar? Buhwuh?
I think this movie should have just dealt with the black suit and save Venom for another movie. There wasn't enough time, which is a shame because Eddie Brock was shaping up quite nicely to be an arch enemy. I thought Sandman was cool and like everyone else thought his origin scene was amazing.
I feel that with Venom there needs to be a moment of "oh crap Spidey's totally screwed now" but we didn't get that and I think it's because Sam Raimi didn't realise the scariest aspect of Venom is that he is a psychological villain. This is a creature that is not only stronger and meaner than Spidey but he knows everything about him. Venom doesn't sit out and wait for Spidey to come foil him, he goes and hunts Parker down, beats him up and leaves him because he can. This would have worked had there been more time in another movie. At the very least I think we needed another fight prior to the end with Spidey confronting Venom for the first time, and maybe a scene of Brock giving Aunt May a house call just to say hi. Alternatively take Venom out completely and have The Lizard instead with the same ending.
That's just my opinion anyway.
Wait this isn't D&D, that was way too detailed. How do I "SE up" this post?
Did anyone else feel that at the end of the movie it was emulating the pacing of the animated show? That show feels like it's broadcasted in fast forward.

I agree wholeheartedly. What also needs to be stressed is that Venom has more raw physical might than Spider-Man, and, for that matter, than any major villain he's faced in the movies thus far. Green Goblin seemed to just about match him, and Doctor Octopus doesn't really count since he's using prosthetics.
Is it just me? I mean, I've always felt that within their first few encounters, there should be one fight where Venom beats the shit out of Spider-Man. It needs to be driven home that Brock and the Symbiote could tear Peter apart if they got their hands on him.

I don't wanna kill anybody. I don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from.
This movie was fucking horrible, they tried to cram too much into it, I was just really dissapointed. They should have put venom into a fourth movie or something so we can focus on him. I also thought it was gay how venom needed a host, a douche like brock especially.
Is this what venom was in the comics? I just think there was a lot of potential there with that character.

George Lucas seems to have an opinion on Spider-Man 3
Lucas said that he has seen all the summer movies since his company, Industrial Light & Magic, does most of the special effects. The only one they didn't work on was Spider-Man 3. What did he think of it?
"It's silly. It's a silly movie," he said. "There just isn't much there. Once you take it all apart, there's not much story, is there? People thought 'Star Wars' was silly, too," he added, with a wink. "But it wasn't."
The man has either totally lost his mind or become a total smart ass.
I'm hopping the wink means the latter.
He was also recently quoted as saying that Empire was the worst of the Star Wars films.
Also, one thing I wish they would have put in the movie concerning Venom (and they might have done this and I just didn't really notice) but it was his voice.
I would have liked to have heard a double-voice kind of thing going on. Both Brock and the symbiote talking at the same time. The thing has talked before, I just think it would have been a lot more menacing than just hearing Topher's normal voice when Venom was speaking. That really, really threw me off hearing one of the more extreme and badass villains of Spiderman have the voice of Eric Foreman. Thought Topher was fine for Eddie, but his voice, not so much for Venom.
They also set up Eddie in one of the previous films and then forgot about it.

Theu've been setting up Conners like a certain feline would set up an explosive device in someone's stronghold, and are not using him to his full potential (greened for lizard colors)

He also thought jar jar was a good idea, so I guess what I'm saying is... I don't car what Lucas thinks. He hasn't done a good thing in a while.

That did the trick for me.
I think this was definitely a reference to Goldeneye.
I mean it was said by a character who ends up with a half burnt face in both films. It would be a rather large coincidence.
or, y'know, the whole redhead thing.

One unused prophylactic
one.. soiled.
Home Movies and Spider-Man?
This is amazing.
One vaporized all the flesh on the Oscorp members of the board without so much as a hint of fire, while another merely blew the mask of Peter's face.
I'm betting it was one of the vaoprizing flash-bangy ones that killed Venom.
Uh, spoiler, I guess. >_>
I am glad somebody enjoyed it.
ONE HANDED!

Now we're talking.
The symbiote storyline is too much of a big deal/long/weird to be put into one movie with other storylines
Plus, having Harry, Sandman, and Venom all in one movie... they stole each other's thunder.
Bull honkey.

No, they set up Man-Wolf last movie

when?
First movie, before JJ puts out the "Money for spiderman shots" ad, he's bitching about how 'that brock kid' can't get any good pictures of him.
