Big Druid did most of the heavy lifting from rank 3 to rank 1 before falling to mid rank 2. I switched to Odd Paladin to finish a quest last night and just face-stomped on in to legend. There were about 15-20 games on iOS that weren't tracked with Big Druid, but I was probably about 60% WR with them.
I don't have an inherent problem with the death knights. I think it's good to have late-game control cards that are meant to provide a big tempo swing and probably win the game, rather than fatigue-style control cards. I think what's bad is that there's really no difference between a midrange deck and a control deck in Hearthstone.
Eh, control Mage wouldn't exist without DK and Warrior needs theirs to handle Paladin. Paladin, Rogue, and DK Thrall aren't run. Druid's is generic value, as is Anduin now that highlander has rotated. It's really just Hagatha, Gul'dan, and Rexxar that are nutty.
I got Misdirection off of Cavern Dreamer and literally just played it out earlier to use up some mana in a turn.
And then my board got cleared.
And I figured. Welp, there's no way he'll swing in. It could be Freezing Trap and he'd be fuuuukt. And even if he knows it's Misdirection he can just wait and play out other shitters. Either way, I just tested for Counterspell and I have a Meteor in hand and I just gained 10 Armor from Bring It On!, so there's NO way, right.

I'm 7-2 with this deck so far, it's not very good! Exceeded my expectations though.
At this point I should be contacting all the champions in advance and seeking pack bribes in order for me to not pick them and thus save them from the ignominy of falling at the first hurdle.
Easy climb from rank 8 to 5 today, went cycling between Big Druid/Taunt Druid/Big Spell Mage (I call em large and busted and large) and only ran into a brief hiccup right at rank 6, 4 stars.
spectral pillager looks like the card that the one guy on the team who likes miracle rogue tried to push through without anyone noticing only for it to be caught at the last second "Very funny, Jerry. Now it costs six. I hope you're happy."

It's Fire Elemental, but rebalanced for the power level rogues deserve.
1. shadowstep a cauldron and pillager on prior turns
2. drop cauldron for 2
3. backstab a different friendly minion to death, getting unstable evolution
4. drop 3 1 drops. upgrade 1 to sorcerer's apprentice, then evolve the cauldron and the other 1 drops all the way to 11 drops
5. hey you did it, spectral pillager to the face for uhh... 26? all it took was 9 cards, and a couple sub-10% rolls
Reminder that Monday, July 2 is apparently the last day of Taverns of Time, so be sure to finish all your lovely Goldust quests on Monday. Tuesday will presumably be back to stingy quests, and I would assume a Taverns quest rerolled on Tuesday will be downgraded to a shitty one.
Edit: And depending on your min-max proclivities, now is the time to park an arena run at 2 losses for a "free" ticket.
So how do I know what quests are taverns quests? I have one that unlocks a hero, is that one? Also, I got a free arena run I think with the tavern, does that exprire too?

Only the ones with both gold and arcane dust for rewards are the taverns of time quests.

It was at this moment, he knew: He fucked up.

Such unlucky draw order for Jinsoo in that second game.
Poor Dog...

Looks like Jinsoo
Playing odd rogue against even lock, I had a fresh 2/2 weapon but decided not to swing since he had 18 hp.
His next turn was tap + Hooked Reaver + “oops”
June's Rank 4 Chest!
Keepin' that doggo.
DUSTIN' THE REST

Except Fire Plume Phoenix exists and is better than that.
Or you know, SI:7, which is even a combo card.

like literally 6 mana 5/5 combo deal 3 damage or whatever
but instead it's,
this..... thing..................

edit: it's simple see:
1. shadowstep a cauldron and pillager on prior turns
2. drop cauldron for 2
3. backstab a different friendly minion to death, getting unstable evolution
4. drop 3 1 drops. upgrade 1 to sorcerer's apprentice, then evolve the cauldron and the other 1 drops all the way to 11 drops

it'd still be infinitely more playable than it is now
heck bump up the stats to 6/6 or lower the mana cost to 5 or something, even
Battle.net Tag: Dibby#1582
At 5 mana it probably becomes playable. But until Un'goro rotates, it's essentially competing with Vilespine (worse body for much stronger effect).
