Yeah, the state of the video card market makes something like the X very appealing.
Kingdom Hearts was - I think - a series that gained traction with a lot of people due to the production value. And that production value has become less impressive over time.

I loved kingdom hearts for how earnestly it committed to its incomprehensible narrative and also because I was nine when it came out. I really have no clue how I would enjoy a modern release but I’m excited to find out!
I enjoyed the first game quite a bit in high school; I can sincerely recommend it. Bounced off the 2nd about two hours in and haven't looked back since.
Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 I actually enjoyed quite a bit and probably still would if I had time to grind. It’s silly and overwrought but just weird enough to be enjoyable.
That said, looking at KH3 it feels like the game hasn’t really progressed at all as time has gone on. Like they’re making a PS2 action rpg in 2018.
I liked Kingdom Hearts 1 but as I think Ben was saying, the DS games and stuff really made it convoluted. The main antagonist of the series was introduced in a DS game? I'm intrigued by KH3 but don't know if I'll have a hope of understanding the story since I only played KH1 and part of KH2.
I'm a little sad that there is not a single Kingdom Hearts fan on the Giant Bomb staff, going by the reactions of the crew the last couple of days.

I gotta say, I agree with @Shadowfire on this one. I've never been able to find a single redeeming quality about those games despite trying countless times. The combat in particular was always just way too shitty.

I watched the crew watch the Last of Us 2 trailer and wow, the chat is exponentially worse during these high profile streams.
I'm almost afraid to ask but what was the chat saying? I had it shut off.
When Ellie and her girlfriend were talking and kissing there were comments along the lines of "lol tumblr is going to love this", claims that making Ellie a lesbian in this is pandering (despite the fact it was established in the first game's DLC), and other types of comments that generally fit in well with the kind of people who regularly throw around terms like "sjw" and "cuck" and "forced diversity" (although they didn't use those terms). The mods can only do so much when you have 5k people chatting in there; it's a much different atmosphere from what I have experienced in GB Infinite.
