Grade ~6-12 Academic Competition

I’m trying to remember the name of an academic competition I participated in during my school years. It was focused toward “gifted” kids, and involved teams of students developing skits based on a prompt that we were given ahead of time. The focus was on creativity rather than rote memorization, and besides the skits there was also a sort of “improv” session in front of judges.

I remember that the high school kids were given more complex projects, such as designing and building a Rube Goldberg contraption that would move an egg from start to finish without damaging it.

I don’t think so, but the idea looks very similar. This would have been in the USA and it doesn’t look like the TOM operates here.

Also I’m pretty sure it didn’t include STEM

EDIT: it was Odyssey of the Mind! I knew “mind” sounded familiar.

    This can be closed, thanks
