I had my second encounter with Conjunctivius today and I beat it, but it was a lot tougher this time than the last.
Went through the graveyard for the first time, somehow beat the time keeper, then died in high castle
Got some sweet blueprints though!

Weirdly, my easiest run with Conjunctivitis was a Survival build focusing on Shields (I had just unlocked Spite and wanted to see what I could do with it)
Finally started making it to the Hand, but now I want to pivot to getting the other runes. All I have is vine and the teleport, where should I be heading next? I scoured the low light area but couldn't reach anything new.
I made this same mistake for a while, it feels real obvious when you see where the game wants you to go
Check out the teleport point near the end elevator in the Promenade and have "fun" from there
Aww yiss, that is pretty obvious now that I think about it. As for the rune, two Crossbow traps carried me all the way through that level, bless their OP hearts.
It's such a long fight too and he only starts doing the real horseshit moves in the final phase so a few times now I do okay until that and then I get fuckin obliterated

Yaaaaaay! I finally beat the motherfucking HotK. I didn't save my build because I suck at technology, but it was dope as hell. Legendary shield with 35% DR and 300% damage after party, legendary lightning with "does + 100% damage to everything", legendary wave of denial with + 100% damage, amulet with 20% dr, and vii ice grenade++ with 20% dr, long thaw and 4x slow. I killed extra monsters in high peak to unlock the vengeance rune just before the boss. I was quite happy to win.
Honestly i can't wait until they put in some more bosses. besides the hand of the king (Which ive only fought once), both concergie and conjectivitus are fairly easy once you have downed them a few times and are comfortable with whatever weapon you have at the time. Maybe i might have more trouble if i was rushing to get timed doors but i usually take my time to clear all the level before moving onto the next.
I think more bosses is definitely a thing this game needs as well. I wish there were a pool of like 3-4 bosses that it chooses from for each boss stage and it randomized which one you got.
I'm having a lot of fun with this but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing. I beat a boss on a bridge and then got to the stilt village which was very difficult so I think I'm underleveled for it. There's also the sewer which is hard as balls no matter what. I'm not sure what I'm aiming towards?
General exploring, you should try the sewers next, also try ignoring enemies to hit the timed doors at least once because they have blueprints behind them the first time

Are the ramparts and the sewers the only two points from the start or should I be looking for a third one?

the way the progression works is that you can find permanent runes that open up new areas
if you got to the sewers I think you already got the vine rune, the next one is in the sewers themselves so that's where you should be focusing right now

Beat Conjunctivitis on my second try, but it was a stressful fight. Shout out to the Endless Bow, you are a good substitute for the lightning when I want a ranged primary. Finally having the spider rune feels great, too.
banging, thanks. I need to roll more I think, I haven't really gotten the hang of that. My biggest success has been with turret builds.
When you can combine the two is when life gets super fun. Drop the turrets to put status effects on the boss/mobs, then roll behind them to whack them with your melee weapon.

There isnt really an 'underleveled' point. its all skill. as you get to know the creatures you are fighting and get familiar with the weapons you use, the game does get much easier.
I made it to the Hand of the King for the second time, this time with an extremely powerful Tactics/Explosive Crossbow build. I was dead within three seconds. I don't think I hit him once. I don't even understand what happened. I was hit for 80% of my health in one shot by...something. I tried to heal, then I got bounced around into spikes and died. His hurtbox looked too big to even roll through.

Even if you are otherwise opposed to it, you absolutely should save scum to practice on the hand. On consoles if you hit the home button and close the game as soon as you die you will reload at the hand.
Am I wrong or is the Boomerang pretty disappointing considering what you have to do to get it?
I actually started playing with it myself for the first time last night and I agree its underwhelming. if it went through enemies on the initial throw, then came back and did extra damage it would be great and fun, but bouncing right back after hitting means you have to do way too much to get the most out of it. I even went double ammo mutation so i could throw two of them and it still felt really awkward. even the range on it is really short.

I think the trick is supposed to be you throw it and it chases you and crits the entire time. Seems like the kind of thing someone who is really really good at the game could make work for them but I am garbage.
Still working on beating Hand of the King, but in general I'm feeling best about doing very focused builds early on, like every single point into one stat unless otherwise impossible. By the time you get to the later stages, you're mostly 1-2 shotting very tough things and then you get to like 5-6 in each other stat to round out health.
I think everyone talking about how the steadily dropping health bonus made it "bad to get stats" is overcompensating for the negative.
The flat +15% bonus to hit means that if you can get enough of them early enough you walk through even late-game levels turning everyone into dust, then prior to boss fights you swap your mutations to something related to survivability.
Admittedly, yet to have this work on the Hand, but at least my runs are quick and interesting!
Also I've started just taking the damned cursed chests. I used to be really worried about them but the chance of decent colorless gear plus another stat point is too good.
You can also just throw it and roll through an enemy. My issue with it is if you are anywhere near a wall, its going to hit it and return before you can get a roll off.
On a funny side note, it's actually decent against the Conjunctivius tentacles. Doing damage to the boss itself is probably too much work to be worth it though.

It's finicky turning around, throwing, then turning back and rolling through an enemy. I'd say the payoff is worth it if you can pull that off reliably, but I haven't had enough time with it to get the muscle memory down.
It'll also pass through enemies when they 'jump' (zombies mostly, but I think the big sword dudes in ossuary).

Fuck!
Died to HotK entirely because I fucked up and forgot to leave enough money to reroll the affixes on an item that had +100% damage dealt, +100% damage taken
EDIT: Also seriously don't spread your stats around, it's pointless
You'll get enough double stat scrolls for your non-chosen stat that you'll be just fine on HP, and being able to kill enemies in the later stages faster is way more important than a bit of health
My past few runs I've finished the Castle with like 20 in my chosen stat, and enough in the other two stats that they were starting to run out of HP as well

i got bounced into him, and then just got stunlocked into death
100% health to 0 in about 1.5 seconds
they make creams for that

You get different blueprints for beating each boss multiple times, also I think that's the only way to reach the Graveyard
You get a blueprint for the first five times you beat a boss, but yeah that's the only way to the graveyard

Roll forward i think.
Broadsword does extra damage to burning enemies and I just got a Fire grenade II+. This is going to be fun.
e:Got a new loadout. Probably the best I could hope for. Died in the room after the second boss.

I need to know how this turned out (also my guess is jumping down through the floor under the trap)
