The wife’s WoW subscription is almost over and she doesn’t want to buy the new expansion. Her favorite part of the game was selling stuff on the in-game market to stockpile lots of gold for Blizzard Tokens. I told her she should just get a money/stock market simulator game on Steam.
Surely one exists, right? If so, any suggestions?
I thought that was the Steam Market itself.
Offworld Trading Company, the commodity market RTS?
Possibly Recettear, as well.
There was that other game that @KoopaTroopa was all excited about but I can't remember the name; where you explore dungeons to find shit you can sell at your store.

Why the heck is the 2080Ti selling for twice as much as the 1080Ti cost at release?
Normally Nvidia announces TI cards months after the rest of the line has been kicking for a bit and presumably has had time to streamline the production process. Also, Taiwan Semiconductor got hit with a crippling case of malware that put a dent in their production of parts used by other hardware makers.
I'm at around 6 hours in Hollow Knight and lemme just say, it's been boring til about an hour ago. Once I learned how intricate you gotta be for some of the bosses, it has been great. Opened up a third area now with more greenery.

Thanks @Wrizzik for gifting me TACOMA earlier this year, just got around to playing it the last few nights and I'm putting this in the same category as Transistor - that is, "Why did I wait to play this game that I've only heard good things about?".
It was certainly good. Do really enjoyed the unique storytelling method, the story it had to tell and especially the characters they used to tell it. Aussie voice actor hype!
It certainly helped that I'm right into short fiction these days as I clocked it at about 5 hours while dragging my feet. I'm really enjoying being peripheral to a time and space instead of being it's eternal focus.
Oh neat! It seems that Grandia 1 and 2 are getting Switch ports. So why am I posting it here? Because GungHo (the publisher) have stated that they fully intend to put 1HD on Steam as well (G2 is already there as the Anniversary Edition, though your guess is as good as mine if any graphics updates get ported over).
Edit: I'm on a "retire games that piss me off" kick. Thus far, Subnautica and DmC have gotten the go away button.
... Subnautica?
Yup. It pissed me off with all the underwater demons. Too much stress to play.
I've also just completed my first and only Fallout playthrough. Make character, save character, hit rats with a knife, exit, move around, run from scorpions after they almost kill me, run from more scorpions, head to the other vault, find some kind of raider camp, get jumped, die.
I'm going to be ruthless. If I'm not having fun, it's getting retired. Done.

I'm on the opposite kind of kick; I've been sticking to games until they 'click' for me. Hollow Knight being the latest one which just clicked for me at the 6 hrs mark. It's starting to open up really well now with new mechanics and such and I would never have seen it had I given to after an hour or two.

Honestly, some of these have been on the chopping block for a while, while the current list I'm compiling is basically anything before 2010, and those aren't going to get much of a chance to impress me.
This summer has reminded me of the fun I like to have playing games, and once September comes around I'm going to start back up monthly challenges as well as seasonal challenges for the Backlog Warriors group. Part of this, at least for me, is to be more willing to say "no" to games that are unfun for one reason or another. Too old, bad interface, bad controls, constant bugs and crashes that hurt the game experience. Now, if the game just feels like it's not there yet, it might get some more time, but stuff like Vampires or Dungeon Siege II or KotOR II gets this chance to impress me or GTFO. Same with some games that have just been sitting there making dragging progress because I just don't enjoy playing them for more than a stage at a time.
I've got 600 games. Time to trim the fat.

Im afraid that when I will be wiriting review, I will spend 90 % of it bitching about everything, because if there is anything that gives me joy in life, it is complaining, and then I will finish with "anyway, I had a lot of fun, 7/10".
Because this game is fun! It's just terribly unbalanced and undercooked, but it is fun.

Also Shenmue III finally has a release date, cunningly announced the day the first two games are re-released: it'll be August 27th next year.
Younger me cannot believe I'm talking about this in a PC gaming thread, but here we are. The future we live in isn't entirely terrible.
I feel like I'm way too excited to be able to play these on Steam when I could just pull out the Dreamcast and play the original, but eh, here we are.
I no longer have my original Dreamcast or the games - I had them when I lived in the US, the second game on Xbox - and the new release on Steam is a lot cheaper than tracking down decent condition copies of them.
I do have a (slightly scruffy, but cheap and works) UK Dreamcast and a handful of games, though. I might have to dust it off one of these days.
The creators of Until Dawn for the PS4 are putting together The Dark Pictures Anthology which looks to be a collection of similar games touching on various sub-genres of horror. The first game is Man of Medan which comes out next year and is about the discovery of a ghost ship while scuba diving.
They will no longer be PS4 exclusive, and will release on PC and Xbox One as well.
Until Dawn is great - easily the best interactive movie type game I've ever played, and the only I've ever enjoyed enough to go back and play through again and again just to see how different choices would change outcomes. I'm glad they're going to be getting their games out to more players in the future.

Man, this game had a serious @Pixelated Pixie target audience going for it. Mainly:
And then it gives you this:

I'd go with Investopedia and their simulator. :P
By not charging once it's out of early access? You're only paying for the early accessibility I guess.
So what sort of microtransactions is it going to have? Cosmetic or what?

Wouldn't that be a 2160TITI?
You lose 80 TI due to interferance from the duct tape.

Highly recommended
But at those prices, a 2080ti I will have to do without.

We don't want to pay people to QA our game anymore, so instead we're going to charge people money to QA our game instead.
Grandia is an excellent, lighthearted, fun JRPG, this is pretty great news.
