Is the US nuclear arsenal still largely based on Minuteman rockets? Because those are well capable of orbital flight should it be necessary :P All-solid boosters though, so no stop-and-restart capabilities - changing trajectory after launch is largely a no-go

And Happy Days was born from the pilot of a completely different show that wasn't produced, then burned off in an episode of Love, American Style, causing a young George Lucas to cast Ron Howard in American Graffiti, at which point ABC picked up the series because Ron Howard was now a star.

So technically we have George Lucas to thank for Mork & Mindy.

Yup, had 9 spin-offs. One was about a literal angel!

Random was an angel out to earn his wings by doing good deeds. He went to work as a high-school teacher, and moved in with Marion and her five nephews and nieces, who were frequently getting in (and out) of trouble, thanks to Random's magic.

At the end of Episode IX we're going to find out this was all Mork's origin story.

You know what's going to be really stupid? Aliens will invade, and it'll turn out that actually none of the nuclear weapons we have can be targeted at space craft.

I wonder if all the targeting is based off geolocation? Basically unless you're NASA and have done a bunch of math it is really hard to shoot at a thing in space on the fly, so all the missiles are programmed to hit certain coordinates?

Aren't the missiles all basically aimed at predetermined locations anyway? No one types anything in. They just switch the keys and it the button.

    They're not programmed like that

the tech is much older, reprogramming is probably not super trivial

but also ballistic missiles can't really do anything except go into a ballistic trajectory and that's not good for shooting at spacecraft

I approve of converting the nuclear arsenals of the world to a global nuclear air-to-space defence

There's a woman who calls in orders for one of our wholesale accounts who's a cumulative up-talker. She doesn't just end each sentence with a pitch up, the pitch progressively increases throughout the call. On weekdays it's only somewhat noticeable but on Saturday she leaves the order for both Sunday and Monday, and it's like going from Mary Martin as Peter Pan to one of the Chipettes by the time the call is over.
