Aladdin borrows form like 4 fables I think.
It combines the Chinese street-rat Aladdin with the lamp and prince ali stories from Arabian Nights.

I think the magic lamp story showed Jinn are kind of huge fucking assholes and Prince Ali was like a crazy ass warlord (he killed a lot of people?).
