so im going to a wedding this weekend. it's a guy I met online back when I played WoW. we've since become good friends, and even tho we both moved on from WoW years ago, we've continued to play games together, the most recent being weekly destiny 2 raids.
we also get together in person once a year
when I found out he was getting married, I cracked some jokes about stealing the microphone and doing an hour of shitty standup at his wedding, I forget the context but trust me I was being hilarious. it became a running joke for the next several months.
anyways, jokes on me because not only am I standing up in the wedding (which was a pleasant surprise), I found out yesterday that they are actually planning on me speaking at this wedding.
so.....time to start writing I guess!
One time I went to a wedding, and the maid of honor decided to wing a speech during the rehearsal dinner, and in the speech she'd discussed all the Dudes The bride had fucked before she met her husband, and it was a lot of dudes. I of course thought it was the greatest speech ever and super hilarious. The bride did not think it was as funny as I did.
I was about to say their nothing wrong with wedding speeches as long as you don't have any of those people.
But I guess you have some of those people.
My brother went to some in-laws wedding with his wife. One of her aunt and uncles brought out a fucking slide projector. I'm getting texts "They brought out a slide projector, which tooth has the cyanide again?"
This is for the best, my father-in-law was able to squeeze a speech in, but for the most part we were able to stamp that shit out. My wife was also at that wedding with the wingged speech and didn’t want any part of that.
At my brothers wedding his Mother in law and step-Mother in law gave a speech together in which they just badmouthed each other and also the Father in law for five minutes.
I thought it was great.

Watching the Asuka/Rei/Misato mobs fight each other on YouTube comments just as they did two decades ago is my guilty pleasure.
I have gotten some really satisfying first place finishes lately but they feel partially unearned because I put together a team comp and then have to receive coaching from @LoserForHireX and co about how to actually position my team so it's successful, instead of randomly arraying them on the board and being pleasantly surprised when the zephyr targets the correct person
