That Moira lifesteal change is more noticeable than I thought. I'm winning way more 1v1s that I used to lose against her.
I've always stayed in the duel when the Moira heal orbs herself and starts to succ, so it's had zero impact on me... untill I roll support and bring out Moira and I decide to go 1v1 that half-HP McCree on our flank and it's like "oh right."
Moiras are still gettin' killstreak cards left and right. She's still survivable as all get-out.

I didn't say she wasn't. I was talking about her 1v1 capabilities.
I was sayin' I haven't noticed it bein' easier to kill her on my main, but it's definitely harder for me to survive as her when I go Moira. And then in my head I was like "was it an over-aggressive nerf?" and I was like "nah, she's still gettin' those killstreak cards." But you didn't say either of those things. I said both of them.
At no point was my train of thought headed towards "mannn, this Dragkonias cat just doesn't get it."
For me the Kill Moira equation has never been amount how much heal she gets from her suck hand, it's about whether or not she just used Fade. Like a McCree who just used flash. I cannot count the number of times I've watched a McCree use flash and barked into the mic "oh now whadda you got?" (I land my shots.) "Yeahhhh you got nothin'."

I think they can make just about any character 'make sense' in other modes, if the design in something like HotS is an indicator. Fuckers managed to make Lucio's wallride work in a MOBA. They can pull it off.

Ah I see. Well I do play on console so it can be harder to aim and the lower life steal helps.
Probably not as much of an issue on PC.

I wonder if OW2 is gonna make any fundamental changes to the PvP experience.
If so now is the time. And everyone likes new and shiny systems.

Is there even a point to a comment this wildly oversimplified? He actually goes out of his way to cling to the wall terrain, and they have managed to incorporate the wallride into his talents and other abilities, with relevant choices at numerous junctures while leveling him up. It's a wonky ability from an FPS that they fleshed out within the design of a MOBA. If that example underwhelms you, we can talk about how they've done similar stuff with other OW heroes - shit, they even made Tracer having to reload into a compelling little gameplay element and design point.
My point is, I don't think it's a tremendous lift for them to PvE-ify wonky heroes like Hammond and Doomfist, the PvE design space is really, really big and Blizzard has shown some chops in using it.

My only thing is I'm hoping since they seem to put dedicated effort into it, it'll be more engaging than the PvE we've had so far.
Cause most PvE events have been a play once and never again deal for me cause they weren't all that engaging.
I lost a match. On fucking Horizon of course. Just plain outplayed, though I had a pretty solid game and somehow managed to secure kills on their healers in two losing battles AND managed to protect myself enough to come out alive, once as Sigma, once as Zarya, basically the two most immobile tanks. As Sigma because they teleported to point and my team straight up panicked. Only Ashe and I stayed on the high ground for the moment where I dropped a rock on Mercy's head and then killed her. It was too late though.
Then the next match had someone who was just doing call outs in a dull, almost bored voice, and I was astonished that his endorsement level was 1. Wondered if it had just decayed or something.
Then we lost one fight, and it became a lecture of what one of the DPS did wrong. Including, a direct quote "People who aim well are not necessarily good at the game." Then the DPS got in a fight with him until finally leaving voice, so he kept lecturing the rest of us. Constantly. Every single walk-back to the point included a recitation of what everyone did wrong. And then I knew why he was endorsement level 1. But this is hell, so that meant 4 rounds on Volskaya. That we eventually won 6-5. Christ.
"I'll just play one last arcade game before going to bed. And hell, I'll play endless and go for goofy photobomb stuff since I haven't done that much yet for this event.
Twenty fucking eight minutes later...
Thank fucking god endless isn't actually endless.
It wasn't even until Bonus 8 that the door was damaged. I don't even know that any of us was a super smurf or there was any real communication or anything like that. We just knew each individually knew what to do and would swarm onto shit like tires and were just all on the same page for focusing what every time.

Comp profile for him
I guess looking at that, there's a very good chance he was carrying us since I'm low plat on a good day. None of the other three's profiles are public, so maybe I just stumbled into a game of GMs.

i don't actually know much about the guy, he's a GM support player and i see him pop up in various streamers' games often enough to have recognised the name
Pretty rough games last night. Went 2 wins with me on Tracer and my brother on tank, then like 6 losses in a row, including 2 or 3 games where I tried to go support while my brother DPS'd.
Last game of the night, we're defending on King's Row. The anchor tank for the enemy team is a Winston (gold portrait, like 1.5k SR above me) who's spamming the "ooh scary" voice line and teabagging anyone who dies near him, but the initial defense is mostly okay because he's not being double-pocketed. I'm able to drop in behind them as they approach the choke and either kill or distract his supports to the point that he can't really commit to killing my team, and we're able to hold it for a few minutes before we think we've almost got him, he ults and clears us off the point.
Streets are a complete wash. I'm able to do very little, and as we have predetermined this to be our last game of the night, I really don't wanna' switch off Tracer for the very, very simple counters I could run to handle this oppressive Winston. I just don't wanna'. I wanna' use my Tracer to address all concerns, but his DPS are peeling too well for his supports, so I'm havin' trouble killin' the supports, so he's getting too many heals.
We hold the next checkpoint decently, but they get it again and our other DPS switches to Soldier for the final leg and I'm like "okay, I can handle this" and go Bastion.
And that was that. Pocket that monkey all you want, he's not surviving a Bastion's attention. It felt completely cheap, and yet deeply pleasurable to hear the voice lines stop, to watch him switch to Sigma, have Sigma do absolutely no better and feel comfy enough to switch back to Tracer for the final moments of the round. The voice-spamming, teabagging Winston left the game before his Moira's PotG ended. An uncomfortable satisfaction, earned on such a simple hero, to put a rude moron in their place. Bittersweet. If we can be judged by the quality of our enemies, I am a doink.
So like 3 and 6 for the night

Has Blizzard said anything about the leveling up boxes NOT being Halloween event boxes? It feels crappy.
I'm assuming it's not just an old loot box? I haven't played this week yet but at least in all previous events, all loot boxes earned during an event, regardless of how they are earned, are event loot boxes. I don't play as much anymore so I can't really say if they changed that this time around, but I'd be very surprised if they did.
I was sayin' I haven't noticed it bein' easier to kill her on my main, but it's definitely harder for me to survive as her when I go Moira. I'm still amazed that I'm one of the few PS4 Overwatch players who actually try to destroy turrets. I've seen so many other folks wander through the car wash without thinking "Gosh, maybe I should take five seconds to destroy that".
Of course, that's what made being a Symmetra main so much fun, too.
Has Blizzard said anything about the leveling up boxes NOT being Halloween event boxes? It feels crappy.
It's the role queue incentive box that isn't event and that's been the case since PTR with summer games. Not saying I like it but it's consistent with what they've done before.
Level up and endorsement boxes are both event boxes.
You'd certainly think that the role queue box is the one that should be event since lack of tank players is the biggest problem facing the game right now.
Good lord. Although I guess I shouldn't be too surprised since I had a whopping two deaths. I'm not sure I've seen a healer break 50% outside of ones with stacked leavers though.
Ah yeah....I guess it must have been the dailies. I don’t get a chance to play more than 2 evenings a week so I get maybe 6-7 boxes total (when arcade is nice like Junkrat event and I get the 9 wins quickly). I guess they sort of all blur together.
Do you, in fact, have any builds in this shop at all?
I usually only play Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights, but - I have to think thanks to the dupe system - I actually unlocked every skin out of earned boxes, save for Wisp Tracer which was purchased with gold on the first day of the event. Very nice.

Heads up, new content is supposed to be announced during opening ceremonies at blizzcon at 11, followed by people streaming the new content at blizzcon at 1pm -- so far I've heard that xqc and seagull will be among those streaming, i wouldn't be surprised to see fran and emongg among them too.
ed: also as a result of xqc streaming during the owwc group stage, Mangachu is going to be filling in for him on tank, should be interesting at least.
Also might as well just wait til the streams start, now that i think about it i dunno if they're gonna stream the opening ceremony - but keep an eye on the socials etc!
...Especially since last year's big new hero wasn't the cool robot in a bowler hat with a big mustache, or the sleek robo support, but a whiny brat doing cowboy cosplay with a DOT mechanic that they had previously said sucks and was awful.
Word is they will stream the opening ceremony - and then it goes straight into this World Cup with no other Overwatch panels for the rest of the day - so the OW2 news has got to be in the opening ceremony.
(Checks watch.)
I'm fine.

Yeah. Other than filling in the gaps as they let streamers play with the new stuff and interview people, half of which will be misreported or developers just flat out saying inaccurate things, after the opening ceremony 15 minute or whatever spotlight for each game, it's pretty much all just fluff.

Here's the stream for it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsgYEXtqmPU
and owwc preshow starts at 12 so im wondering how they're gonna fit it all in
I'm pretty sure that the Opening Ceremonies stream is on about a 5-10 minute broadcast delay in case of... you know... THINGS HAPPENING.
It started a bit late at any rate. They do seem like they're running over though.
Or that they're just going to roll the Overwatch stuff right into the OWWC stuff.
