What is Monster Hunter?

Welcome to the game where in the goal is to kill off these guys with some form of pointy or shooty implement.

Monster Hunter is a series about hunting little things, making weapons and armor from the bits of the little things then eventually using those weapons and armor to hunt bigger things. Repeat until the next game in the series comes out.

There isa problem with the PC version. Make sure you have these codecs installed before you get to the final boss or the game will save right before an unwatchable cutscene which will make your game unplayable.

It sure is interesting being introduced to the franchise as a New Worlder and watching your long time hunter friends get increasingly hype as more monsters get announced for Iceborne, alongside jokes that there should be an event quest that brings back Plesioth hitboxes.

Hunters should just randomly cart in that quest. The game can pop up " a plesioth hip checked you from another map"

Ouch, tried to get one of these hyper hunter II tickets to upgrade to the seditious axe last night. Never fought a hyper monster before but I think my armor was not ready for it, among other things.

@Vyolynce Sure, I'm getting frustrated trying to solo all these hub quests, on top of continuously failing stuff. I'm sure part of it is trying to relearn SA, but I've probably been trying to do fights I'm just not ready for.

I gave it a quick couple of runs, the 15 minute time limit is not really long enough to reliably to get the kill with a random group, and you can forget about solo if you're not some sort of MonHun genius! It is a fun fight though, as elder dragons go, I'm looking forwards to tackling it properly with my actual equipment later on.

The only things stopping me from picking up the PC version are concerns about my rig (I'm running a 970 and an even older processor, which should be fine at 1080p but I heard the game was poorly optimized) and... I put like 300 hours into that game, I can't do that shit again just to get back to the same place

The game has been improved a lot since launch, it still isn't perfect but you will definitely be able to run the game at least with the same fidelity as the PS4 version but at 60fps. As for getting up to speed, you can always download a savegame and edit it to your needs (appearance, materials, decos)

I haven't done any save editing but an easily way would just be to go grab a save around the same HR as you and use the mod to change the store to have monster parts and decos to get your old gear sets back.

The save editor pretty much only requires you to know your Steam ID number so that your profile loads it, other than that it's a GUI that's pretty straightforward. I then used the free character change voucher to edit my character to my liking. It won't change your palico though, you'll need to use an editor for that.

I'll have to get back to you once I get home since I can't recall the save editor I used, and it doesn't seem to be hosted on Nexus mods. As for the save file, I could provide mine, I'm around rank 80 I believe on that one. There's some on Nexusmods that put you at 100 with no equipment, zenny, points, decos etc, it's just everything unlocked (Ingredients, gadgets, palicos).

Yeah Entaru and I were commenting on it while fighting double Blango with Saldonas last night. The Conga we fought was overshadowed by the unquestioned tiny crown Bulldrome that crashed the party. This thing was barely bigger than a regular Bullfango.
