You continue to play until you have no friends left. Then you will have won the game.
I've been on the westcoast the past 2 months and heading back east tomorrow where I left my switch. I'm excited to game again, but also preparing to be overwhelmed with indie games to catch up on. I bought Hollow Knight physical right before I left, so I'm going to try to holdout and not buy anything new until I conquer it.

I can second almost all of that list as well as Towerfall which was separately mentioned. Heave Ho has been the hit of late.
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is great with a group and works for all levels too. Same with Ultimate Chicken Horse and somewhat same with Just Shapes & Beats.
The Jackbox games are always a good time with a group. Nine Parchments was fun for more progression-focused co-op. Enjoyed Wizard of Legend co-cop but couldn't progress far.
I am sure I am forgetting at least 5 more. Really a ton of great options.
If memory serves that team has been helping out with getting Animal Crossing out the door. I assume they’re wrapping up on it, and I could see them turning their focus back to new Splatoon content now. Maybe a new Octo-Expansion style content drop? Or co-op levels?
...heck, if they want to build a Gambit-style PvPvE mode in Salmon Run, I’d be down for it.

I'd like to say that this time we're definitely getting an announcement of a Xenoblade Chronicles X port, but I realise it's just not gonna happen before the Xenoblade Chronicles port comes out.
It's really good. I know that it looks better on other platforms, and I even own the PC version on Steam, but I just prefer playing on Switch. More comfortable the way I'm set up, and plus I can play it anywhere.
And I would say the ONLY way it is compromised is graphically, which isn't something you should have to say but it's true...the gameplay doesn't suffer at all as other ports have. For example Saint's Row The Third feeling laggy/sluggish, framey, trouble with long distance gunplay due to resolution issues. This is a swording-people-in-the-face game, not a lot of long distance aiming, and during normal gameplay it feels like a very consistent 30 FPS. Cutscenes are the only time I notice graphical problems, which often do have reduced framerate and a bit of texture/shader pop-in at the start of scenes, but this is only in action-heavy ones which are rare.
The game is best looking in up close dialogue scenes, especially with major characters who have had the most work put into their look. I think my favorite part of the game so far was a series of extended talks I had with Geralt's dwarven friend Zoltan Chivay, who looks great and the conversation was written and acted incredibly well for a video game.
Not having played it before, it's a really odd beast, it feels like it has a lot in common with Assassin's Creed games, the feel of movement and combat, the upgrade systems, the "viewpoints" (which are notice boards). But it also has a lot in common with Skyrim in terms of hoarding and looting everything in the world, equipment and crafting, the RPG elements and dialogue. Right now I've even got some GTA storytelling feel as I'm meeting with seedy underworld types in the big city.
Overall it's real nice.

The "No Place Like Home" quest for me. Here's a spoiler if any of you want to see part of what makes Witcher 3 so great, but otherwise, just try to keep things going in the castle as long as possible. Trust me.
Goddamn, that game spins a great yarn.
I've never played the game before. Generally I'm trying to avoid guides and going back on decisions I make by reloading though sometimes it's difficult. I'm about level 17 and not long ago I read about the game's XP scaling issues with quests that can result in missing out on lots of XP if you're more than 5 levels over the quest level, so I had moved on to Skellige...then I realized if I'm already way over the level 6 requirement for Family Matters I might as well go finish it all up. The game even acknowledged some of this, in Skellige Geralt told Yennefer what I had learned from the baron, but nothing from Novigrad because I haven't done it yet. So I figured since the natural progression seems to be Velen -> Novigrad -> Skellige I should probably do all of that.
I finished the baron's quests.
I was curious how his story was received on release but not enough to google it...essentially how well the game handles humanizing an abuser. I would bet anyone who has had to deal with that sort of situation wouldn't take it well, but the game gave plenty of options to condemn him and refuse to listen to his side of the story. But in spite of his own issues we find out Anna had done him wrong as well (which wouldn't justify his actions of course), and if nothing else he is consistent in his attempts to be a good father, even taking in the lost girl, and the emotion associated with the miscarriage. I liked him as a character in spite of everything, in terms of wanting to see him succeed at becoming a better person, giving up drinking etc.
Also on a different note I 100% explored and looted both Oxenfurt and Novigrad, as far as I can tell (outside of locked quest locations). That was a monumental task. I feel like I've completely memorized the layout of both cities. Notably there was one huge warehouse in Novigrad where every door in was locked except one, and the place was full of stuff. So now I'm carrying around 100-200 of every kind of booze and 50-100 of every kind of food and I felt kind of bad that there is no mechanism for me to just give some of this stuff away to people in need? Like the kids in the swamp. Here, have 100 dwarven ales, it's better than swamp water.
Also Gwent is great:

Do you feel like you don't have enough controllers you might accidentally inhale? Did you accidentally inhale your last controller, and need a replacement? This looks like a good choice!
I mean at $20, I'm pretty sure I'm losing money by not getting it. That turquoise is of course the bomb, but when this was first teased in 2018, they showed more colors than just these three, and also a Game Boy-inspired deco. I kinda wanna wait to see if an SNES color scheme ever comes out.
But, again, $20. Might just buy two.
(I will say, though, that micro-USB charging in 2020 is a tremendous disappointment.)
LOL oh my god you weren't kidding. Those things are TINY.
...My kids might love them.
I know, I'm already overleveled for everything, but I'd still rather not miss out if it's something I can avoid. Though I guess I could always do New Game+ later.
The issue is just...if "full XP" for most sidequests is something like 50-100 and "full XP" for story quests is 500, but they both drop down to near nothing if I do them at too high a level, I'd rather do those story quests at an appropriate time if possible. Plus they are some of the bigger and better quests in the game too. At some point I know I'll run cleanup on the other stuff anyway.

I'm not sure if I can believe a 4K support Switch.
It'll probably "support" 4K in that it can output upscaled HD resolutions to 4K displays. Because there might be some minimal image quality or response time gains to be had having the Switch do that instead of the TV.
And maybe the streaming apps the Switch doesn't have can allow you watch 4K content?
My pet theory is that Nintendo will release a Switch Pro that can just barely receive downgraded ports of PS5/XBX games, same as the current Switch can just barely receive some ports of PS4/XB1 games. It won't break the bank. It won't surprise anyone with it's image quality. You'll just quietly fire up Doom Eternal and think "You know what... it's not as bad as I expected."

I assume a Switch Pro would be a new generation and not what people are supposed to consider a minor upgrade. 1080p screen etc. But still able to run Switch cartridges, like a DS -> 3DS situation.
Eh, the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X didn't really fracture their userbases. There's really nothing that won't run/runs like crap on the older hardware, like people were fearing.
At the same time, I get the impression they didn't really grant the sales bump their companies were looking for. (Sony gave up on breaking out Pro sales after the first few months, which I think is telling.) So I'm not sure Nintendo would be eager to follow in their footsteps.
On the other hand, both Microsoft and Sony are putting out new hardware with even more flops and stuff, which would put Nintendo even further behind than before. The power gap hasn't really hindered Nintendo before, but would an even bigger gap cause a rush to try to make it up?
In short, I'unno.
I'd be cool with that... But I don't think that making a Pro model is a smart move if they go that route. Imagine seeing Switch boxes and Switch Pro boxes on the shelves... People would be confused as shit.
It's the type of game that tests the strength of friendships and relationships if you do really well with another player the logical add on content is an engagement ring.

The PS4 and Xbox One regular editions were much more powerful than the Switch, though. It wasn't that huge of a performance jump for them to do 4k.

You just need to have a clear and understandable naming convention. Call it the “Switch U” and market it with Coldplay.
