it's an add-on
you'll have to increase your pledge (2200 yen for the steelbook), then there will be a post-campaign survey where you tell them what extras you want

good morning, closing stream is underway here
final goal/new add-on:
Stretch goals are about dreaming big, especially the later ones. Through your help we’ve not only been able to make a really awesome base game but we’ve been able add modes, DLC, and even a novel by Murayama-san.
So what other dreams are truly left?
It’s with great excitement that we announce our plans to partner with Natsume-Atari to create an Town Creation RPG. Natsume is known for the Harvest Moon series. Natsume Atari has done some great pixel based games like Ninja Warriors and Wild Guns.
So what is THIS? We are still very, very early in the planning stages so there is a lot we cannot commit to. However, these are the current thoughts:
It will release before the main game, which will hopefully hold you over during the excruciatingly long 2 and a half year wait.
It will feature a variety of different “lifestyle” mini-games that will allow you to gather a wide variety of different materials to build up your town/farm/house.
The goal is to allow these materials to transfer over to Eiyuden Chronicle allowing you a head-start at crafting some of the different items/armor/etc in the game.
You will get to meet a few of the characters that appear in Eiyuden Chronicle and get to know them a bit earlier.
There may be some kind of battle mechanic, but we are still talking it over.
Some production points of note:
Allowing a partner like Natsume-Atari to work on this game helps us make something we love without worrying about too much wear and tear on the team.
The goal is to share as many assets/designs/etc. so that it will be an efficient production.
Now the hard part:
While this is a separate title and not really DLC, we want to give this to our backers as bonus content for all the support they’ve given us. However, there is a rub—Console platform holders will charge us 30% of the base price of the game to purchase DL codes so that we can give you the game for free. That means we’d be out a HUGE amount of money if we didn’t charge something to at least cover that cost.
Based on the content of the game, we are expecting whatever publisher we end up working with to charge around 15-20 dollars for this title. 30% of that would be between 5-7 dollars. It’s a cost we can't do anything about, so we are asking backers to up their pledge by 7 dollars if you want this companion title.
It’s a hard decision to make but making the world of Eiyuden Chronicle bigger and providing people with an early taste is our last dream. It will still be much, much cheaper than the retail price, so thank you for understanding.
If you are interested in this content, please add 7 dollars to your pledge. Due to the nature of this and the fact it is a final goal, we know it’s a bit last minute so we will try to allow backers the chance to purchase this game even after the campaign ends.
Just a reminder that Natsume has released nothing but garbage Harvest Moon games and the actual Harvest Moon (Bokujō Monogatari) series is now called Story of Seasons, made by Marvelous and Published by Xseed Games.

this is Natsume-Atari, a separate entity from both marvelous and current harvest moon natsume
also we're officially past 4.5 million so all stretch goals have been met (including all but one social media upgrade)
I find it fascinating that 2 of the top 3 most funded video game kickstarters are spiritual successors to Konami series. (Bloodstained and Eiyuden. #1 being Shenmue)
Goes to show just how much Konami has wasted the amazing IP they have over the years. Imagine if they hadn’t continued to F over creators and actually did something with Castlevania, Suikoden, Metal Gear, Silent Hill, etc.
Man did that new trailer look good! That combat engine is the slickest thing outside of a Persona game. Absolutely can't wait.
Personally I think it's the second coolest thing seen at e3 so far, just behind Elden Ring. Then again, it's not hard to beat out the showing this year...
Very glad I backed this and am very much looking forward to having my big shark husband on my party.
The only Suikodens I've played were V and Tierkreis and they were fun enough, V especially. Still, though, this trailer gives me big Octopath vibes in a 2D characters walking around a gorgeous 3D setting kind of way.

V was so frustrating for me, it had all the makings of a great game, but such awful, awful characters and tropes that it ruined the story. Not to mention it was such a cakewalk that it was a complete snoozefest. 1, 2 and Tactics are the only Suikoden games I enjoy, the rest were various flavors of disappointment and awfulness. Looking forward to Eiyuden.

Calling it: Not-Nanami is going to be the best character in the game.

While they're good, Suikoden II blows both of those games out of the water.
You got to find a way to play it before Hundred Heroes comes out, its the primary inspiration for the game.
I only played S1. It seemed really good but it was a used copy so it crashed halfway through the game and I couldn't progress. This looks good but Im apprehensively optimistic because the Kickstarter seems to promise a lot of game for a new studio.
I remember liking 1 way more than 2, but this was also when they released so perhaps 2 decades of time has blurred my reasoning. I should go back and play them, spore scene wrecked me as a yoot.
Suikoden 2 on PS1 has been more expensive than it has ever been thanks to the pandemic, it's ironically now cheaper to buy a whole-ass console and get it as a PSOne Classic to play it.

Suikoden I has the best protagonist and true rune.
I hope there's at least some QoL improvements and this isn't just a re-release with crisper sprites. Or like a art gallery or something. I love me some suikoden 1 and 2 but I'm not sure I have the time to revisit a baseline ps1 era jrpg.

There's a cleaned up translation at least, and some kind of fast forward. I tend to agree for most JRPGs of the era, but Suikoden has a special place for me.
I kind of wish they'd make the time requirements for Clive's storyline in SII a bit more generous. I hate rushing the front half of the game even though it's a cool bit of backstory.

Guitar beaver was my jam.
I know nothing about Suikoden so I didn't have any expectations. It was pretty fun!
I love the art style of Hundred Heroes, so hopefully it's fun too.

while murayama may not have been involved, he does seem to be on board with it, so yay, more good news for suikoden fans
Now skip 3 and 4 and remaster 5.
Bullshit. Give me 3 and 5. But rename 5 to 4. Suikoden 3 was brilliant.

If a remaster can give it a frame rate and uncouple the party members so you have 6 instead of 3 then it'd be alright.
from the trailer footage it looks like SII has diagonal movement (not sure about SI but they did show off running)
really if they just fix the annallee song bug and the tcdohl bug, i'll be satisfied
wait.. Suikoden 3 allowed you to have 6 people in the party, 4 was the one that dropped that party limit to 4 people. Or am I misunderstanding.
