Torn Achilles sounds like such a nasty thing to endure
It somehow seems worse when described as “ruptured”
Correlation isn’t causation, but it sure feels like a truncated training camp and lack of preseason is resulting in conditioning problems leading to more injuries.
I “learned” this from watching Kevin Durant’s roll up into his calf. Like super visibly. And of course the elastic tendon is going to do that when it tears all the way through...

Jesus. This morning they made it sound like at least Irvin was ok.
Honestly if Bridgewater had gone to New England and had the kind of game Cam had vs the Seahawks, we'd all be convinced the hoodie had done some dark ritual, sacrificing the knees of the league to save his QB.
If Cam had a history of knee/leg trouble, we'd def be saying that.

E: apparently team's playcallers are allowed to unmask when calling a play, and to that I say just have each team designate a playcaller (or else default to HC), and put that person in the same bubble/protocol as the players so they're just not masking anymore
Well I picked up Freeman couple days ago in both leagues, but still sucks since I had Barkley in 1 of them. Feel bad for the guy. Last year wasn't great for him either, year before that he was a monster.
The only upside to not having "the guy" at any given position is that you can push playcallers to just call what works instead of being worried about utilizing your high end talent.
Like I think back to Eli Manning, who won a Superbowl with Plaxico Burress on the team but made a lot of bad throws/picks while targeting him because he was his guy and he would try to force things to happen.
After Plaxico shot himself, the following years Manning was better at spreading the ball around and not throwing into double/triple coverage

Apparently a team doctor was administering a pain killer to Tyrod’s ribs right before kickoff and accidentally punctured his lung.

One has to assume there's an implied "former team doctor" in there.

Raiders pride here in Vegas sure is ramping up fast. I'm happy to see some of the cool shit surrounding it, like the guy with the shirt that had a combo logo of the Vegas Knights and Vegas Raiders. Some of the other shit though, like the radio ads that go "ah yes, the Raiders' illustrious career"? That shit has to stop. We're a hacky sloppy team that racks up penalties at the same rate other teams rack up points against the Browns. Let's dial it back a notch.
So I have McCaffrey and set up waivers to snag Freeman because I thought Davis was taken. I looked again like 12 hours later and Davis was actually available.

I've read enough different places from medical folks who have chimed in. It's a 1% chance of complication to happen during that procedure. So, considering they have it measured, that means Tyrod likely signed a liability form that says Doc is off the hook.
It's a needle under the ribs. I'm sure he didn't feel like he had a choice, but a needle right next to the lung is going to have a risk like that.

Am I a monster if I grabbed him too?
You don't think Freeman will get more action? I have him currently, he's on the bench but now Im thinking play him instead of Gurley.

Or, 2020 just sucks.
Oh yeah. Have to dig all up in there!
It’s happened to some big names now though so it stands out a lot more.

He'd've fuckin' done it, too. In a heartbeat.

AAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
e: I don't know why I'm laughing, it's not like the Saints have ever been screwed over by a ticky-tacky PI call at the end of a game before...
ahem. Good game.

Depends what said doctor was injecting and what sort of documentation they have.
I feel like being a team doctor for some of these teams is absolutely a matter of mutually assured destruction
