Narrative. Go to the third option in the event and you spend film reels on the story segments for this event. Archives from the Home screen lets you buy all the ones you already earned from previous events to have permanent access to read them when you'd like to. Each completed story gets you a medal for the trophy case.
that's how I did normal, challenge made the initial runners too fast so my normal mode strategy of dropping high dps vanguards in there first didn't work, the solution I needed was "use cheap snipers at the bend first instead of vanguards you moron"
for reference my SV-4 challenge mode rollout was approximately:
-drop 2 E1 max/E2 single target snipers in the upper right ledge facing right to clear out the first few waves.
-drop Earthspirit to the left of them facing down, covering the killbox. Save Earthspirit's S2 for the two heavies wave.
-drop Cliffheart with S2 on the rightmost melee square facing left, use her to stun and slow lancers in the killbox.
-drop S3 Eyjafjalla in the lower left cliff area, closer to the killbox, facing right, saving S3 for the big guys wave.
-drop Feater with S2 in the space down and to the left of Cliffheart's spot, use as another slow and delayer for lancers and big guys coming into the killbox.
-the Kyostinv video I was watching had S3 Silverash in the melee spot in the middle of the killbox, but I opted to put S1 Manticore there for more slow and AOE damage instead, since I had enough damage for the big guy wave with S3 Eyjafjalla already.
-drop Meteorite behind Eyjafjalla pointed towards the killbox for more DPS and cleanup of anyone who slips by.
is it only the ones you've seen or is it all previous event scenes, even ones you have missed?
I started out with some of them unlocked already and some that I had done locked, along with one set locked I was not sure if I had done or not.
You can theoretically use up to a few hundred Gel by CN timeline, so it won't go to waste.
Hmm... where did all those extra Vanguard chips come from. Something about... Scotland?

I thought they already soft confirmed Darknights Memoir for the 28th though, at least that's what the twitter hints seem to indicate.

if they give us Wolumonde that means Suzuran, Ayerscarpe, and Click on banner and Folinic as welfare iirc? then since they've already announced CC#1: Pyrite for late November that's Asbestos and Tsukunogi
at this point maybe any of the side story events are fair game for global/jp so thonk levels are off the charts here esp since if i recall Twilight of Wolumonde actually chronologically happens after Darknights Memoir and god knows when we'll get Ch. 7

since we have no indication of when we're getting the Weedy banner and by extension Elysium this is even more thonkworthy and i guess flips the table in terms of CC strats but we'll have Suzuran I guess who can either do triple target arts or slow + weaken + heal allies as a Supporter so lol
Also means we're doing the next CC without Weedy so all the CN strats are basically out the window.
Hell, we could end up getting Surtr before Weedy/W now. That'll really throw a wrench into saving for that limited time banner.
