[Nintendo Switch] THIS THREAD IS DEAD! POST IN THE NEW ONE!
Posts
- I dunno if it's just my particular setup/TV, but it feels laggy in docked mode. Handheld is perfect, but everything just somehow feels off or sluggish when docked.
- the game has crashed (heh) on me twice, both times while racking up a high death count on a level. The first one prompted an automatic system reset, something I've never seen before.
- if you're very into 100% completion (or 106% in this case) it is a brutal, absolute fucker of a difficult game to do so. You gotta clear each level with all crates smashed in a single life. These levels are long and challenging, it would be (IMO) intensely unpleasant to attempt.
I'm gonna settle for getting all the gems and maybe the time trial relics, a feat achievable by mortals.
All crates smashed is particularly nasty in Crash 4, because the team just adores hiding crates that are actually offscreen. There's one level with 2 crates behind a staircase that the camera can't pan far enough to look behind, for example.
Also, the NVerted stages needing to be done for costumes in later worlds is very annoying.
I love the game, but there were some weird choices mad in parts.
But then I remember that I can play as balloon-animal crash and have him pop and fly away when he dies, and I'm charmed again. It's a game that's hard to pin down my thoughts on, is what I'm saying.

I actually faceplam'd at her design, but I couldn't help but reluctantly appreciate the fact they made a busty fruit and vegetable themed girl have "melons"
An unfortunate typo considering in this case she literally has a face-palm.
Is the DLC stuff good?

She's more of a pot-head than a face-palm.
and decide maybe it is not worth it to attempt the CC
It's still a fantastic game and series. I'm totally looking forward to the third one.
There’s just a kind of pervy gearhead honesty to it that almost wins me over on camp value.
"I swear these things always develop leaks along these seams where no one can see them...double Ds not even a necessary part of the #$%& design, I need to buy one of those aftermarket reduction mods, grumble grumble..."
I am still super happy one of my most cherished childhood games got done right eventually. So many failed sequels and they did a great job with the zero games.
Still hyped for 3 though
Meaning it's NES-styled, but doesn't obey any of the NES rules for audio or graphics, and has all the modern features you would want in a game, so it feels classic but it's better than you remember it.
Why do people keep @ ing me?
We like your melons.

Have seen unlocks take a bit of time...
Capcom just tweeted it will be out in a few hours. So midnight Pacific most likely.

Good News! Inti have confirmed that the Blaster Master Zero trilogy is coming in physical form to the West, complete with the Japanese voice acting!

It doesn't come with the saucy posters, but we are getting a mask cover with both Eves on it, and a papercraft model of the tank.

Probably not a good sign that all it can think to advertise is "More than 10 playable characters!" The last version had 30 characters, each with three movesets.
But hey, it's not like it's been in development since 2010. Oh wait.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
...I think I may have been very wrong.
Yeah the demo got me nervous but the full release runs so well it's crazy.
Perfectly for like 8 hours straight, other than a particular glitch that I feel was my own fault, sort of.
I joined a hunt with 3 cool Japanese dudes and we killed one monster and were working on the second. Then i went to turn down the volume on my Switch and accidentally hit the power button! I turned it back on quick, but the game said a communication error has occurred. But I was still in the fight, this time just me and the remaining monster, offline. It felt like it scaled back down in difficulty to just 1 player again.
The sketchy performance started just after that a minute later, lasted about a minute where a wide open plain, just me and the monster, went sub-10 FPS. I was like oh god, the game is killing itself. But then it recovered and never did that again or since. It was so strange, it has to have been related to sleeping an online game in progress.

I was also able to quickly and easily join a friend who was on an online hunt. I just went to his name, and clicked "Join Hunt" and I was there 20 seconds later fighting with him... I hope games going forward do this!
You can thank Nintendo for finally changing their multiplayer server technology after 18 years.

I'm not entirely confident that's the case. I think the servers in question are more back-end and connection management-type servers than gameplay hosting servers. Most of the time for an online game (especially one by a major third party like Capcom), the game itself is a client to the servers managed by the game's developer. So it really is a matter of Capcom's netcode more than Nintendo's server, at least by my estimation.
