I added this to the OP but I'll drag it along here and there. I went with "Account (Forum name if needed)" but could use a different format if people think something else is better.
Also I just added my cousin and apparently adding Friends is one-directional? He added and invited me, and then I had to add him.
Fiatil's been singing this game's praises for a while and I was itching so now I'm throwing fireballs and as soon as skill specs opened up my eyes got real wide. I'm SniperGuy for a refer code if anyone wants to send me some bees.
Also I am loving the art style and general brightness and colors so far. Very refreshing.

Acolyte was definitely the right class to pick. Haven't giggled like a maniac when getting a new skill or looking over it's tree for a while.
Bone Golem is so ugly I have to keep it.
Transplant is very satisfying and funny (idk why, it just is). It has a skill that explodes when you land too.
Decided to make a flask birb for 1.0. Immediately realized that my build has no zero cost skills and all the extra flask procs I took cost mana. So That's gonna be something to deal with I guess. Maybe for my next char I'll make one of those weird druids that swap between forms.
Souuunding like some more server issues with the Euros on and Americans waking up. Hopefully they can get it fixed up soon. All in all I had a great day 1 as far as connectivity goes, got in a solid 4 hours (out of about 6 hours of free time), but it's still a bit cyclical with player load.
Yeah it's rough. When I left my game because the quest wouldn't advance (guy just left me and it error'd) my character wouldn't show up and it was impossible to relog so going to put this on pause for a few days. If it's deleted it's no biggy since it's only a few hours in.
Luckily WH3s We're Sorry patch will be out in a bit.
Haha I'm officially taking a half day today and Total Warhammer 3 is my backup plan.
Which may actually be a bad one given that all of my recent playthroughs have a couple of very big and fun mods, and patch day is not always kind to those.
After avoiding the server issues yesterday (by playing Helldivers 2, which has its own issues lol) I got on this morning to make my character (Falconer, unsure how I want to build it yet). Please friend me and/or use my referral code so I can get my bees! I've been proselytizing this game for years now so please do me a solid
Yeaaah it was pretty damn stable from about 7 PM central onwards last night, but they sent their server team home around 10 hours ago to rest up with everything in relatively good shape at the time.
I'm sure they'll be back in fairly soon and hopefully can sort out the stuff going on now. I am officially jacked to play more today in a way I wasn't as much yesterday before seeing how different/good it feels with the 1.0 changes.
Yeah I can't get it to load. Made my character and stuff just fine. Account name is Samson627 because urahonky is offensive lol. It was bound to happen on these services.
The twitch drops started. Today is a cloak, tomorrow is something else, then next weekend will be another 2 drops. Make sure to have a twitch stream with drops enabled up for an hour to get your cloak.
Ok so I looked at the new skills and explosive trap looked neat. I then noticed you can change the skill so traps that trigger throw more traps and can also throw acid flasks. So I thought "let's start with acid flask, and try to convert that to fire and get explosions and fire and ignite, etc. etc." but oof, acid flask is probably the worst leveling skill. My unspecced flurry with just a random rare club that has health on melee hit does more damage, has almost as much AOE and is way faster and safer to use. Now the question is, do I sunk cost fallacy my way with Acid Flask until it gets better or cut my losses and grab puncture or flurry (fully knowing that I won't use either in my end build)?
Transitioning zones seems to have stopped working so I should probably just exit and try again later and ponder this for a little while.
Yeah the hanging on connecting and area transition stuff appears to be the same issue, and sounds pervasive at the moment.
Sounds like their server people are back at it -- they posted an update about 15 minutes ago saying they're working on that specifically and are hopeful they have a lead.
I cannot log in at all to an online character, sucks because I was having fun with my shaman. Dont mind it too much, still plugging along on my offline acolyte.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.

I'm doing the same thing. My clear got 1000% better once I got my falconer mastery. The chunk of dex makes up for the lack of gear support you have at early levels.
Yeah one drop early game can make such a huge difference. I was used to having a few nice starter items, got in yesterday, and had some tough fights as a melee dude! Got some leech and life regen from the skill tree, improved a lot, then got rough again when I hadn't upgraded my weapon in awhile.

Yeah starting fresh after having a bank full of shards is rough lol. especially for throwing, which doesn't really have any base type support. You're stuck with passives and whatever scraps you can find until you can amass some shatters.
Since I play offline my biggest annoyance right now is my pyro golem using its loud fire aura skill every 5 seconds while in town. I'm trying to figure out what to equip and it goes CRACK FOOOM! next to me constantly. Can't even unsummon it any other way than messing with the skill bar.
Game seems easier than what I remember or maybe Warlock is just easymode. Goatmen boss fight around level 45 is the first time I took noticeable health damage in ages, usually its just my wards going up and down a bit. Hard to figure out my defenses for future harder content when I don't get to test them out during leveling.
I do find it kind of odd they didn't have like a "throwing weapon" category with built in throwing damage for daggers, spears, and hammers. Or hybrid statted like sceptres.
Either way, acid flask is a fun reminder of the old D2 consumables.
18 minutes ago - Client update that Averielle posted about below will be deployed momentarily. The downtime may take up to an hour but may be very significantly lower. We'll know soon.
A massive reduction to logging, which we have reason to believe may be contributing to the increased scene transition time, will be deployed in ~2 hours after the server instance has built. This will be a backend deploy and will not require a client update. We're hopeful this helps though are not absolutely certain
Obviously bracing for that not to be the magic bullet solution, but hey maybe.
Hm, watching a streamer for the drops that seems to be doing the Harvest+Minions thing to good effect, which makes me want to pick the idea back up.
Also I noticed that the first falconer 2h node has weapon-specific benefits like increased ASPD for swords, so they threw a bone to non-spear rogues even though their second node and several of their specific skill nodes are all spear-only
So there's my list to keep me busy:
Chaos Bolts, also try Ghostflame but probably Chaos Bolts
Harvest+Minions, death knight types are cool
2h sword rogue of some sort, puncture I guess so I don't step on the toes of my next one
follow the theme of the corsair set for a flurry+lethal mirage sword-and-board bladedancer, see how that goes
spear with the explosive-trap-on-melee and jump-with-bird divebomb, or something like that?
Shelved for now until I look into whether anything has changed that would make it feel a bit better: Transplant bloodsplosions with Rip Blood. Wasn't coming together early enough for me when I tried to before.

"There's no way we can do this! There's an entire army in front of us!"
"Nah, I got this"
"Uhh..what?"
Don't you people know we're in an ARPG? This is what I do.
Also I just added my cousin and apparently adding Friends is one-directional? He added and invited me, and then I had to add him.

Yeah. It's basically the last remnants of the servers being jacked.
Much improved over "can't login at all", but that is 100% a thing now. They're aware of it and just mentioned it on their discord as a priority.
Also I am loving the art style and general brightness and colors so far. Very refreshing.
Yeah that'll do.

This game is so silly. I love it.
Giving smite-ey Paladin a shot this time, possibly switching to hammerdin once I get some idols that make it proc smite.

And to think I wanted to play this to get away from Helldivers 2's awful connectivity issues.

Definitely need to do that at some point and it's tough when you're in "go go go" league start mode.

Thats a pretty good sign! this game is fun
