Our first new thread since June 2019. Let’s look at some events since then…..

The 2019-2020 season was cut short due to COVID. We ended up getting a weird bubble location playoffs with a play-in round, in which the Tampa Bay Lightning took home the big prize.

The following year saw a divisional re-alignment to cut down on travel, also due to COVID. Tampa Bay would take their second straight Cup but not without some controversy due to salary cap shenanigans. Let’s be honest, they were kinda dicks about it too…..

We would finally see the Buffalo Sabres trade the disgruntled Jack Eichel to Vegas, who would allow Eichel to get the disc replacement surgery he desired. Eichel would eventually return to play, seeing Vegas try and play fast and loose with the salary cap. Vegas would ultimately miss the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

Obligatory Leafs update: The Leafs would get eliminated in the qualifying round of the 2020 playoffs. Then a first round elimination in 2021. And yes another first round elimination in 2022.

And let’s take a look in at Water Bottle Tosser Jordan Binnington…..

    What an awful third period from the Avs. Can’t see any way the Blues don’t tie this game, especially when they pull Husso.

    Edit: And there it is. Not helping the Avs vs Second Round narrative at all.

    I finally looked up the Detroit octopus throw and it involve my homeboy OHL star Yzerman (and the reasons why I still think of it wasn't solved till now)

    Kicking call could have went either way and I would have agreed, but being up by anything hasn't meant shit all this series. Sad to see it end though.

    I was rooting for the Oilers and I would have preferred to have the series go to a possible game 6 than to have that kicking no goal upheld.

    Especially since the puck looked to already be on its way to being a goal if it never made contact with the skate.

    Or if the refs couldnt keep the goal on the scoreboard have an offset penalty against the Oilers at the first chamce.
