I need my apartment to lose 10,000 pounds in 5-6 weeks. Any advice?

So, I need to move. My current living situation is untenable for numerous reasons.

So I basically have sex weeks to decide what I want to move with me and what I want to cast into the great beyond.

I've always been a bit of a pack rat but I want to adopt a more minimalist lifestyle.

The question is, what do I do with all this shit?

I have limited time and energy and patience. Some of this might be sellable. But I kind of just want to chuck almost all of it. for example, I have:

1) Photography lighting gear - strobes and stands - in pretty good condition
2) A couple of monitors, that were good in their heyday but are kind of outdated nowadays
3) TONS of old video game swag. Most of it is still in its package or it's unpackaged but I never ever look it it. Like for example I have a giant box for The Order in my closet. I know it has some statue in it. I don't want it and I'll never look at it

Is there any value in trying to find buyers for any of this stuff? Any thoughts? I'm mentally prepared to just chuck all or most of it but I wanted a second opinion.

TL;DR: What is the best diet plan for my apartment? I need it to lose like 10,000 pounds in 5-6 weeks.

    sex weeks sounds nice

try tossing stuff on ebay for a couple weeks and if no takers, pawn it off on friends!

I hear very good things about getting rid of stuff via OfferUp, BuyNothing, and fb marketplace

All of that has buyers, and better has buyers that would look on marketplace sites.

Take a picture or two, throw stuff up on as many sites as you have patience for.

Be clear it's first-come first-served. Try to sell but bunch/in bulk. Like maybe 1 or 2 bundles of the photo gear; you don't want to piece iit one by one.

The game stuff might be tricky because I image people are only looking for specific games/swag

For the photography stuff you might be able to sell it at you local camera shop or a site like Adorama. Photography has a big market for used equipment.

Thanks for all the advice folks. I ended up throwing a lot of things away today but I held back a few things I might try selling instead. Thanks for the advice. Currently debating throwing away my Nintendo LABO stuff which I opened and lost pieces of but otherwise never used LOL

Last I saw was that Nintendo Labo cardboard can be re-purchased from Nintendo at a pretty steep discount because it's worthless without the accompanying game.

Excellent, that's literally exactly what I wanted to hear.

@Drez, be sure to double check, looks like their current stock is limited.

Thanks, it’s all good. I was looking for an excuse to throw it away anyway. I don’t see myself ever using it.

The only winning move is to not play.
