Not significantly no. The COVID seasons are fucking rough.

I've seen all the other ones. Honestly, even though Pirates of Leviathan was more of a test season for it than this is, it looked way better. That greenscreen just looks awful, especially with that like, "smart" cropping of the hair.

Anybody seen recipe breakdowns from gastronauts yet? I finally caught the first episode and i want to recreate that hamburger helper casserole that was Brennan’s meal. I can probably break it down with a rewatch, but i figured someone might have already done the work.

A nice article about Dropout and YouTube contracting on Film Crit Hulk's Patreon.

Contains this juicy quote, which I hadn't heard about but yeah that would be good (EDIT: in the replies FCH says he thought talks were advanced but he would find out - it might be untrue).
the comparison has gotten to the point where Taskmaster is actually in development at Dropout and I think it’s going to be a PERFECT fit if they get the hosts right

I'm a little anxious that they try and cast the net wider than just Dropout regulars, because one of the beauties of Taskmaster is the way comedians who've never met each other interact. See Rosie Jones and Jack Dee in the latest season - it's genuinely joyous.

Wife and I finally finished Never Stop Blowing Up this past weekend and it was wonderful. If anyone here that has also watched it has recommendation for another D20 series we should consider it would be appreciated. I know some folks here are liking Misfits and Magic a bunch and although my wife is a sucker for HP, she also loves Brendan and would probably want more of him as a DM.

If you've watched no other seasons of D20 I'd say start with the first season of Fantasy High. It can feel a little chaotic compared to later seasons but Brennan is at the top of his game from day 1 and ends the very first episode with one of my favourite moments.

Other highlights include: Crown of Candy (and its sequel The Ravening War), Neverafter, Starstruck Odyssey.

Fantasy High is an all timer. I don't personally love Crown of Candy but it seems very popular. Starstruck is tremendous the entire way through. Hard to go wrong with any of them though.

I think a lot of the guest ones kinda sputter out, to be honest.

I loved escape from blood keep but thought tiny heist wasn't nearly as good or as fun

Butters, fantasy high s1 is probably the best one but blood keep is only like six episodes or something so that might be my recco

If she loves Brennan as a DM, she's going to LOVE Brennan as a player. I actually like seeing Brennan as a player more often.

Escape from Bloodkeep or Dungeons and Drag Queens would be a good next step. For a longer series, Mentopolis is a LOT of the vibe of Never Stop Blowing Up (but subdued, obviously, because Never Stop Blowing Up... never stopped blowing up).

"THE PRICE MUST BE PAID" is the most unhinged way for a DM to handle a bunch of new-ish players in that situation I think I've ever seen. Lives rent free in my head to this day.

Not to mention, apparently he improv'd that on the spot because he didn't want to kill off two new players at the same time, he felt like it was too punishing.

I imagine if it is taskmaster (which we've been told isn't possible atm due to rights issues ) they'll open it up to the wider LA comedy/improv crowd

I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

Ben Schwartz make some noise episode was very fun

I don´t know, Ben tends to take up too much room.

    but, hey, more Vic.

Some people in make some noise I look at and think "I could probably be about that funny," and others I know I could never hope to compete with. Then there is Ben Schwartz who just fucking killed everything and made others look like chumps in comparison. It is unbelievable how good he was. Definitely one of those that reminds me no I absolutely could not make a career out of being goofy without a ton more work out in.

    MisMag 2, Episode 10
This entire season has been running on all cylinders, with tight and focused scenes and some amazing roleplaying by everyone involved.

The callback in Bombini's death with "What am I going to tell your family?" was SO good. Fucking BLeeM, man. The whole scene was very much a samurai duel standoff in the best way.

The whole Biblically Accurate Criss Angel Mindfreak thing was the dumbest/best encounter. I wonder how long Aabria has been sitting on that. I loved her comment about "I ran a WHOLE Horror season, but that was the grossest thing I've ever heard." about the Turducken thing.

Ugh. That MisMag 2 season finale was so good. When I finally realized what was going on, I was totally here for it.
I wasn't sure exactly what was happening until Jammer went past the room with the hats. Then I was like "Oh, shit, this is all parts of the ritual, and the first scene with Sam was TIME."

Poor Fake Tony Danza. "I'm the boss".

Also, the casual "Avada Kedavra" tossed by Evan at the Scuppers field had me rolling.

The Material sacrifice being Spaulding (and Jammer subsequently leaving behind all his dreams about Basketball) was somewhat heartbreaking, but it felt like the realization of that character.

The Purdue shoutouts were weird for me because that's my alma mater. I'm like "Oh shit, Aabria knows about Purdue!"
