[Genshin Impact] Chasca coming in for a landing, Ororon flying right behind.
Kaeya, as noted by others, is a really good 4* cryo applicator. His ult is fantastic, and his E is on a very short cooldown. Very effective.
Diona is different. If you're bringing her, it's about healing and shields. Enemies do take an ATK reduction as well, which is nice, and if you have her at C6, you get a very nice EM boost from her ult. But on the down side, her cryo application is weak.
Thanks, I’ll work Kaeya first.
Edit: I wish I had invested in Lisa or Kaeya over Razor when I started, or even Noelle. I suppose in the grand scheme it’s not that much to get a character to level 60 and A4.
Razor is great fun, though. Especially with Kaeya so you can get those Superconducts in.

True, but I didn’t fully understand the reaction system back then and I didn’t like playing Razor when I couldn’t keep his busy up because I also didn’t understand energy generation.
Whenever a character collects an Energy particle, they get Energy: 3 Energy for a particle that matches the character’s Element, 2 for a clear particle, and 1 for a particle of the wrong Element. Every other character also gets Energy: 1.8 for a matching particle, 1.2 for a clear particle, and 0.6 for a non-matching particle. The Energy gained by each character from particles, both on and off field, is multiplied by that character’s Energy Recharge stat.
That is the basics, but you generate particles from using skills and (I think) every so many normal attacks. I'm sure there is more to it.
Like, if I want to use Razor it would be good to team him up with Fishl who can generate electro energy while off field. To get even more hardcore, if you have a Favonius weapon you could use it to proc the energy particles and then swap to Razor to catch them to make sure he can keep his burst up.
You can probably ignore a lot of the fine details if you're running a team that swaps regularly to use skills rather than leave one character on field doing normal attacks most of the time.
There's several abilities that can directly generate energy beyond just spawning particles, yeah. If you hear characters talked about as batteries, it means they're good at generating particles, especially off-field so they're easily collected by other party members (and in particular this will often be specifically of a matching element, but some characters crank out a LOT of particles passively so even mismatched elements end up getting lots of energy)
Well, no Yelan for me this round after ~65 pulls, don't want to sink more into it right now. Was still a good banner for my account. 3 Cs for Xingqiu and Beidou and Widsyth.
I gave up on Dehya being good and grabbed Yelan, got her at pity but won the 50/50 so that was very medium luck. Despite not pre-farming at all I got her to 79 in one day with 1/6/6 talents, you end up having all sorts of junk in the bottomless bag of holding when you've been playing for a while (not sure why I had 12 cogs from the mechanical worm in my bags). Dunno what's good for her so I just got her +20% HP and +15% hydro damage set bonuses and Stringless bow, can't be too bad for her.
I spent my hoard picking up a Staff of Homa. May still roll what I scrounge up for Dehya (pending if she seems to be at least usable, once released), but not guaranteed to get her anymore. We'll see!

So Tighnari's voice actor is a sex pest, likely profile as well?
Well... I'm working on others first. Getting Diluc to 80/90, then working on Raiden. I reckon I'll work on him after Raiden since I am still working on Inazuma archon quests.
His kit looks like it fits a theme which is always nice.
ShadowfireVermont, in the middle of nowhereRegistered Userregular
They've already confirmed they're in talks. Going to be interesting though, since Tighnari is supposed to have a role in the archon quest in 3.5. Do they push that back? Or just go with what they've got and change it later?
Is there any recommendation on what artifacts to farm for vs strongbox?
I'm planning to farm EoSF since it's BiS for a lot of characters, and at some point the Guilded Dreams domain, but I'll also want some VV sets, Noblesse, Tenacity, Crimson Witch, and Thundering Fury. Seems at the very least VV would be a strong candidate since I probably don't want/need Maiden's Beloved over Ocean Hued Clam.
EDIT: nevermind, found an old reddit post that laid it out and essentially boils down to farm EoSF domain and strongbox most of the more niche sets. Guilded Dreams domain is probably next best.
City of Gold - (Desert Pavilion Chronical) (Flower of Paradise Lost) - Ideally you'll only be farming this domain for Wanderer. Flower of Paradise Lost is a good off-set while farming for him. But not good the other way around as Gilded Dreams is a strong substitute for Flower of Paradise Lost.
Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern - (Bloodstained Chivalry) (Noblesse Oblige) - Noblesse Oblige should be farmed through artifact Recycling. Bloodstained Chivalry has little meta value, but if you are farming it for some reason Noblesse Oblige is a good set to get on the side.
Domain of Guyun - (Archaic Petra) (Retracing Bolide) - Both sets should ideally be farmed through artifact recycling. Neither are currently good to farm in general though and are easily replaced, substituted or even upgraded over by other sets.
Hidden Place of Zhou Formula - (Crimson Witch of Flames) (Lavawalker) - Crimson Witch of Flames should be gained through artifact recycling. Lavawalker is niche, if you are farming it Chrismon Witch of Flames is a solid set to gain on the side.
Midsummer Courtyard - (Thundering Fury) (Thundersoother) - Thundering Fury should be gained from artifact recycling. Thundersoother has little to no value as any unit that would want it has better options.
Momiji-Dyed Court - (Shimenawa's Reminiscence) (Emblem of Severed Fate) - This domain in general has no wasted Resin. Emblem is good so many units and Shimenawa's 2pc makes it useful on many units. If you are farming either set, the other is a great pickup on the side.
Peak of Vindagnyr - (Blizzard Strayer) (Heart of Depth) - Blizzard Strayer ideally should be gained from artifact recycling. Heart of Depth is not a bad set but rather niche and only a few units will care for it, mainly Tartaglia. Domain should be avoided unless you want to farm hearth of Depth.
Rige Watch - (Tenacity of the Millelith) (Pale Flame) - Tenacity of the Millelith is a solid set for those procing the 4pc ATK bonus. But should be farmed with caution as Pale Flame is a very niche set. There is no recycling option for these. Many units want Tenacity though but try not to go too hard unless you have the Resin to spare.
Slumbering Court - (Husk of Opulent Dreams) (Ocean-Hued Clam) - Both sets are niche. Farming either generally means eating the Resin on the other set. Although Ocean-Hued Clam is more likely to be used, the units that would use it don't strictly depend on it like those would on Husk of Opulent Dreams.
Spire of solitary Enlightenment - (Deepwood Memories) (Gilded Dreams) - Another very good domain. Not quite as good as Momiji-Dyed Court but both sets are great. Should be little issue gaining the off set.
The Lost Valley - (Vermillion Hereafter) (Echoes of an Offering) - This domain is likely the worst in the game. The only real reason to farm it is for Xiao. Echoes of an Offering is EASILY replaced for every current unit. It also has issues for those who may have lag issues making it even worse. Only farm this if you want to maximize your Xiao's damage.
Valley of Remembrance - (Viridescent Vanerer) (Maiden Beloved) - Avoid domain, Maiden Beloved has almost no value to farm. But you can gain Viridescent Vanerer from artifact recycling so you can just pretend this domain doesn't exist.
if you don't have any VV sets, getting a VV set is much stronger than most of the other sets you can get.
artifact drop rate is so random/blah that it kinda just comes down to how fed up you are with running the domain vs eating the exchange rate on strongboxes.

Yeah, but you absolutely do not need Maiden's, so running the VV domain is a waste of time.
New event:
Event guys: "You have no knowledge of the sword! Come on, senpai, let's take them down."
Combat starts, Raiden Shogun pops onto the field.

Me farming Maiden's way back in 1.xx version: "I keep on getting these useless VV EM pieces, guess I'll ... hmm ... well, might as well toss them in bag, they might be useful one day."
You can get a sword-dog for your teapot, who'll wander around and do whatever sword-dogs do. Kageroumaru I think? That's probably the closest you'll get.

Would be pretty rad. But at least you can get Kageroumaru to guard your teapot.

I am officially burned out. Three and a half months is quite a while to play a game every single day.
I should finish the BP tonight, then I'll ride out the Welkin Moon (6 days left), and come back when one of my characters hits a banner. If I'm refreshed then, I'll keep playing, otherwise I'll just try for the character then bow out until I feel like coming back.
Really hoping Ayaka comes up first, though I'd be happy with Kokomi. Not sure I'd blow wishes on Shenhe or Yoimiya if they came up first..
Sometimes I just wish the event cadence wasn't so tight. I never have time to complete world exploration these days. I have pretty much all the world quests in the Chasm to finish, and I've only unlocked half of Sumeru. Only really had time to keep up with the main storyline.

Genshin is really good (as far as gacha games go) for taking breaks from. There's no shard farm or infinite fortress upgrading or anything, you'll just lose the primogen income and whatever event weapons/freebie 4*s you end up skipping. And after 2+ weeks of break you get Stellar Reunion, which I really like - free primos and mora and stuff.
I'm taking a short break too, the new desert area didn't really interest me as much as I thought it would and Dehya news were fairly demoralizing as I had been saving for her. Yelan is alright but not enough alone to make me feel like playing right now.
The more I play the more I hate this World Level system. I'm just cruising along and all of a sudden even trash mobs are too hard to beat.
I wish world level was only affected by story progress.
And since we're on story progres sth4ese freakin' events require WAY too much story completed to take part in. I was grinding story shit all weekend, boring as hell, hammering the A button wishing for a skip cutscene button and I'm still not anywhere near the current event quest.
The World Level system is definitely awkward, and clearly designed to slow progress in the game’s infancy, when content was “exhaustible”.
Genshin could use substantial work to improved on-board and refine the flow of progress. But I doubt they’ll get around to that.
Meanwhile, the story issues are a case of the “Ongoing Game Monkey Paw”. People wanted greater presence of all characters… so Mihoyo just jams them into events, where they blather endlessly.
You can go ahead and put a lot of emphasis on that 'really'.
the forced story sections in genshin really are kinda nuts sometimes.. no warning and suddenly you're in for a half-hour+ of solid cutscenes even with mashing the dialogue button.
it doesn't make much sense, considering how skippable all the dialogue is in Honkai.
You can go ahead and put a lot of emphasis on that 'really'.
Blue Archive has the perfect Skip Button - it gives you a 20-50 word recap on what's going on before the skip happens. So you can hit the button, see if you really want to read through all of whatever's going to happen and if it does look boring, skip. If something actually interesting is going to happen, don't skip. It's just so good.
ETA: Before the current "all the playable characters turn out everywhere all the time" -phase, it was useless and forgettable NPCs blathering endlessly. So even though they still blather, the current situation is an improvement.
