Lately Amtrak costs as much as a flight, just a friendly little travel industry FYI.

    Actually

    Nevermind

I'm pretty sure this would be impossible.

Well, the offer to at least drive you still stands.

You could always look in to greyhound and/or trainpricing. It might take a little longer, but it can be fun.

    No, trust me

That is in fact the exact opposite of a better idea.

Maybe if it were a different weekend or something.

So if I manage to swing a flight up on Friday evening and back on Sunday night, would someone a) provide me with a place to sleep and b) provide me with transportation?

    Cuz I mean

    I wanna come.

    I can look into it.

My parents have a strict "no girls spending the night" policy at our house, but if I bug them enough in advance, and make it clear that A) you're just a friend, and B) you have no where else to go, I might be able to talk them into it.

I can at least offer transportation.

    Ha ha ha.
    You live with your parents.

At 22, it's not such a big deal.

Especially since I'm still in school.

Although, theyhave told me that even once I graduate, they don't want me moving out for a year or two. They want me to live with them, and save up money for a decent place, rather than moving somewhere trashy right away.

    They're good people.

I should be able to attend. I enjoyed our night with Khoo.

I almost want to try to talk him into coming.

Sending him an email about how spending an evening with us would be a great chance to gather some marketing data.

Once we have a date nailed down, I'll probablysend him an email to invite him.

It's funny, because thedesk in my bedroom is too small, so I actually have my desktop set up in a room in the basement.

For the record, I am in favor of bonfires, but we need to be careful with outdoor planning, due to potential of weather.

Also, we'd need to look into various laws an stuff, and we'd be attracting a lot of attention, which would be a bad idea if anything at all less than legal was going on (by accident, of course. I'd NEVER serve drinks to a minor.)

    Okay, more details:

Party start time will be ≥ 7 pm.

And Callius has offered up his apartment as a potential location (unavailable on the 30th). I'm hesitant to go with it, because I don't want Dustin and Natasha to have to worry about the set-up or clean-up of the party, but it IS an option.

Edit: heh..."weather". You mean hot as balls?

A poll for the date would be good, but the data would be useless, because people who couldn't attend would vote for random things anyway.

Personally, I'd lean towards the later the better, since it allows for more planning time, and is closer to the actual "going away", but we need to see which date works best for everyone, and for the locations, so if people could just post their preffered dates, that would be really helpful.

And by weather, I mean that having a bonfire in the rain doesn't work too well, potentially.

    Hmmm...

Turns out that I have another party that I'm supposed to be at on the 23rd.

I'll blow it off if I have to, though. And it starts at 2pm anyway, so I could probably show up just to make an appearance, at the least.

talked with the GF and she's ok with it so long as the baby isn't disturbed (basicly means no extreme loudness in the billiard room). So my place is an option.

also, I vote for the 16th

edit: or the 23rd would be just as good if not better

HochiWaWa needs to look at his schedule to see if he can make it, but he has agreed to help with food planning regardless.

This is a VERY good thing. There is no forumer that I would trust more with the future contents of my stomach than HochiWaWa.

It would be business for him.

He runs the business end of PA, part of which includes marketing both the strip and the products, in some regards. A gathering of forumers is a great place for him to gather data on both what it is thatdrew us in towards the strip, and also on other things that we like, so that he can better know the demographic that they are currently pulling in.

Mostly I mentioned inviting him as a joke. Tremor reminded me of time that Khoo was in the area, and came to hang out at Callius' place with us, and I thought it would be amusing to invite him to this. I honestly don't expect him to make the trip out just for it, but then again, it would be neat if he did.
