Dumb question about finding a new primary care doc

The doctor I've been going to for years is switching to a subscription fee based structure, so I have to find myself a new one. Right now I'm doing a search of doctors near me who can do my yearly physical. Now comes the dumb question: is it weird for me as an adult with no kids to pick a pediatrics doctor as my primary care? I've avoided it in the past because it feels weird, but the doctors with other specialties aren't available for new patient appointments until December. Am I a weird creep if I go to a pediatric doctor?

No, but they may not see you. Or may drop you after a visit. It depends.

I had that problem recently, and had to switch Doctors, and I went with a nurse practitioner. But what I need for a primary care doctor is to do my physical run my blood work and prescribe the medicine I want. For anything else I see specialists (which may not be applicable with your insurance).

Hmm, that's enough of an answer, I think. I'd rather find a doctor I can stick with and if there's a risk a pediatric doctor isn't going to let me stay then it's not worth it.

I ultimately just picked a doctor that's further away than I'd like to drive. Cest la vie.
