The GM hasn't stated the rules for ties. I imagine they're unpleasant.

Wait, with premium and Locus votes is it still tied at the top for 2 people (JPants and premium)?

I don't think there has been a game with favorable tie rules in..... more than 5 years?

  • JPantsJPants Registered User regular
Locus moved off of me so I'm down one with Paku. Premium leads.

Every game I've played has the tied people being tossed off a bridge or something at minimum.

perfectly balanced factions seems not quite correct.

Too much chance for dramatic stalemate a la Transformers.

There has to be a wildcard.

Sure but by now, surely, most of the factions have coalesced/contacted each other.

There are almost certainly alliances being formed in backrooms and behind curtains. It would be foolish not to.

If the right people talk to the other right people, the 3 vigilantes could, in some way, manage to keep the balance even throughout.

A random passive neutral, or a member of a faction but with a secondary win condition perhaps, would be a wildcard that could, in theory, balance out the roughly even kills that could be happening.

    i hate this part.

    where it's all quiet.

    and nobody is saying anything.

because they're all up in their ivory faction towers.

    making notes.

it could work for a secondary victory condition though. something passive.

    Like

figure out everybody's factions before end of Day 3.

Like, I could still be Militesi or Lorican or whatever and still have another objective as well.

Ulterior motives for characters aren't totally out of possibility in Final Fantasy.

Chapter 3 - Rubrum Runs Red

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40WU_9p2__c

    hgl20n82arlf.png

One of the remaining Agito Cadets of Rubrum had fought valiantly, but could only hold out so long against the tide of battle.

As the traces of their remains faded into the chaotic fires, it was little solace that their legacy would forever be known to the surviving Agito, even as their unheard cries were lost within the roaring explosions around them.

Unfortunately, not even the protective ardor of the Lady Caetuna of Rubrum could endure against the combined might of the Black Tortoise and the exertion that resulted from maintaining the might of the Dominion's relentless Eidolon assault backed by the Rubrum L'Cie, intent on holding off the Militesi Advance.

It was not only the blood of the Dominion which was spilled, however. A stray Magitek Knight was targeted by a blast from the fearsome Azure Dragon, and met an equally ignoble end.

As the battles raged, new allegiances continued to rise and fall, while others were content to wait to see which way the tides would turn.

Yet the time for idle observation was rapidly drawing to a close, and with the lingering threat of Tempus Finus, it was becoming clear that Orience would either see its people united under one banner... or destroyed.

    that's fair.

i'm really quite amazed by the fact that the Dominion seems to have just... killed their own.

in a perfectly balanced faction game, where every faction has the same roles etc, you would think that by Day 2 everybody would at least attempt toget organized.

So, why would the Dominion vig target their own villager.

The classic thoughts i'm having are either, Dominion is oddly enough not organized at all and therefore aiming wildly.

Or, there's a busdriver out there and things are going to be hilarious.

Now now, I know that the likelihood of a random special with a secondary condition, or a bus driver is unlikely, as the dead Dominion pointed out.

    But

that possibility makes a lot more sense to me than a faction just... not coalescing.

Rough night for the Dominion, shooting their own guard.

I'm reading narration as JFP guarding themselves but two shots still killing, so it seems like guard is a one shot deal potentially.

Loricans and Concordia doing well. Concordia has all their specials.
    Rubrum badly self owned. Yeesh.
    Militesi in a tight spot.

    (Taking color suggestions for Rubrum).

Agree that seems to be the vibe. Dying to know how Dominion friendly fired themselves!

I thought you couldn't use powers on yourself, which would only really apply for Guards?

Sometimes guards are allowed to target themselves. Depends on the game.

    Seems like that's worth a clarification @cj iwakura - can guards self-guard?

So this is where we're at now. I'm updating the spreadsheet to automatically add player color based on the value found in the PlayerList.

    ...which I don't think I've linked yet? It's here.

  • kimekime Queen of Blades Registered User regular
Everyone here talking about how obviously all the factions are linked up. How badly would you have to be playing to not be networked with your faction already, what are you even doing? This should have been done by like, early Day 2 at the latest!

kime over here: hehe. Yeah. *tugs collar nervously*

Only two people have called out their factions in thread. Unless someone's seer was especially prescient, I don't know how much networking has happened at this point.

That said, I don't know how the Rubrum vig missed with "guaranteed" hits available.
