This is a simple question. How the hell do I get this mashed kneaded rubber eraser out of my carpet without giving it a haircut?

Please god don't ask what that is just google it.

Thanks for your help!

Buy a big bag of ice, wrap it in a towel, and leave it on the eraser long enough to freeze it. Then chip it apart and vacuum it up.

Just turn your room into the charcoal drawing room, then rub your sketches on the ground to smooth out the edges and lift excess charcoal. Or do what supabeast suggested and be boring.

Try that. It works for me when I get bubble gum in the ol' push-broom.

That's so rad. How much ice? A tray will do you think?

You can also freeze it quickly with a can of compressed air turned upside down.

Goo Gone is a great product. As it says on the company website "For all those gooey, sticky, gummy, greasy cleaning problems. Removes chewing gum, grease, tar stickers, labels, tape residue, oil, blood, lipstick and mascara, shoe polish, crayon, bumper stickers. Works on carpets, upholstery, clothing, wood, and cement."

There should be some gum-away or something out there that works as if it were a can of compressed air upside down.

I had some at a theater I worked at. Very cold stuff.
