You know, I've given it a lot of time but man do I really not like the dual wielding weapon option in Blasphemous 2.
It feels and sounds like I'm slapping enemies with a piece of rolled up newspaper. The mace is okay, its got some stopping power but I only dabble in it now again.
Overall, the weapon thats meant to replace the Mea Culpa is definitely heads and shoulders above the other two for me. Its so much more flexible while still feeling really powerful.

I have used the sword and dagger on some enemies and bosses where there were either extremely limited periods of vulnerability or longer ones where I could turn it into a dps race briefly but it really relies on the lightning charge meter for damage. It does have a really nice counter attack with upgrades but overall just isn't a dependable weapon.
The flail has its uses due to the range, arc, and generating fervor faster (plus the crouch attack lets you keep spinning the flail head around if you mash the attack button which can give you a lot of hits in quick succession at the cost of mobility) but over time I really gravitated towards the single sword. The upgraded combos are really nice and the block and counter mechanic is really handy for some enemies.
While I do appreciate the idea of multiple weapons, the way the Altarpiece system works favors specialization in the long run.

Yeah, the flail is a godsend for flying enemies and there are a ton of those lil shits compared to the first game.
Speaking of Diablo, I should pick up my run of Grim Dawn. Think I was Soldier/Assassin or something?
1.2 patch just hit with like 10 pages long patch notes. Most of it is just item changes and such but they also added a dodge. I'm waiting until next year when it gets another DLC, got 1200 hours played already so I need that new class to make it interesting again.
Yep. So I'm usually pretty good about not buying stuff during sales. Not this time! Got(had) some monies in my steam wallet(thanks @KoopahTroopah) so my backlog is now the proud owner of Heroes Wanted, Spiderman Remastered, Settlement Survival, Planet Crafter, Luck be a Landlord, and Spellcaster University. Fun times ahead!
Ok really though I'm just gonna spend all my time surfing the 'net and lamenting I have nothing to play.
Oh, hey folks: Grindstone is on a massive discount.
If you like games in the match-3 style of thing, absolutely get grindstone. It's a simplsitic setup (Construct chains by linking together same coloured enemies, 10+ chains spawn a gem onto the field that lets you change color mid chain) with a ton of depth and innovative levels. There's some bonkers 200+ levels, and a NG+ mode now, so you can be stone grinding for days. Also all the powerups etc you can get are earned/crafted by drops from enemies - and you end up with a wealth of resources, especially with the carnival of creeps, so it feels pretty cool to use these to do crazy things.
I've got it on my switch and i'm happily going to rebuy it on steam just because it's such a good experience.
Also, @Questor is a jerk and sent me Ronin as an unbirthday gift midtyping this, how dare you Questor, it's been over a month sincem y birthday! I WAS SAFE.

Ronin was prettyfun, iirc
Yeah, until the final level if you're trying to get the good ending and suddenly the technical difficulties come to light.
I do not need to add Tales of Arise, Scarlet nexus and Code Vein to my library, no matter how cheap the bundle is.
I feel like a lot of shit I was waiting for sales on isn’t on sale. So its down to stuff that goes on sale all the time that I don’t have time to really play. Like I would love to pick up the expedition games or Midnight Suns or Forgotten City but when I really honestly ask myself if I am going to play them anytime soon I probably am not.
I did pick up Jedi Survivor finally. Fun game but I am a bit worried about the endgame performance time bomb.
Did the STEAM awards and didn't expect DAVE THE DIVER to hit so many of my nominations. BG3 game of the year and story (tried to nominated CASE OF THE GOLDEN IDOL, but it looks like that released last year - swore I played it this year), but pretty much everything else I threw at DTD.
Way more than TOA for sure. The only issue I had with the game was the weightlessness of the attacks; everything else I was digging. I've tried SN two times and I think I just need a very slow period of time. . .or a plane trip to play on the SD.

Ronin, Mark of the Ninja and Gunpoint. Whatever genre that would be, I down for more of those games.

A nice little grouping for $20
Depending on preference it may be worth looking at Ur Quan Masters, the free (relatively) modern remake of Star Control 2. IIRC it started as a fan project but Reiche and Ford work on it officially now and are making an SC2 sequel.

One of these days I'll catch up on my 90s backlog and finish Ur-Quan Masters.

That's putting it mildly.
Pick up Master of Orion 1 & 2 pack on GOG or Steam, as well, and you're set until the next Autumn Sale.
Oh hey, I can nominate Baldur's Gate 3 in a bunch of categories... and it deserves a bunch.
I feel like normally they only let you nominate a game once. Am I misremembering that?
I think that's for the actual award voting, but yeah, it took me a minute when I twigged that too.
Virtually all of my noms have gone to BG3 (thank you again @Karoz ), F1 23 (thank you again @Pixelated Pixie), and a couple to Robocop: Rogue City (thank you to a non-PAer friend for that one). I chucked the "innovative" one to Shadows of Doubt based on when I played the demo, haven't actually got the game yet though.

and somehow, it will still manage to run like shit on your newest, shiniest hardware.

The big exp and gold boost were sorely needed as well.
I’m hoping they leave it like this for future seasons, I don’t have time to play all day anymore so it’s nice.
This was my first game I tested on my Ally and loved every minute of it. Hopefully it runs well on the Deck for you.

Had three bases, fully upgraded prawn suit, seamoth, and cyclops. Unlocked alien power cells. Made it to the alien thermal plant.
Then got randomly killed by a fucking sneak ass ghost leviathan while repairing my sub.
The moral of the story: Don't play on hardcore.

Seems accurate!
Its free to try on Steam till the 28th.
That game has no right to be as entertaining and humorous as it is. I'm also a dad so I very much enjoyed the jokes

Katana Zero was a better polished experience IMO

Easily one of my favorite non-From Souls games. And honestly even in From I'd happily put it above, like, DS3. Fun stuff.
I dunno if I'll get much of anything this sale, myself.
at least steam nomination will be easy
Tales of Arise and Scarlet Nexus I have nothing good to say about.
