Medusa's stock is low. She's fallen on hard times since they no longer make Castlevania games and the Clash of the Titans movie is a decade old. Let's pause and give a thought to Medusa.

i checked out DC Infinite finally, which is DC's app like Marvel Unlimited
it is absolute dogshit
like it has a lot of comics, but like, it's actively hostile toward you actually reading them
there is no indication whatsoever that you've already read something
like
what the entire fuck
Allegedly a voice of reason.

you can make your own reading list, but there's the aforementioned lack of any indication you've already read something
and you can't remove things from your reading list
the only option is to delete the entire list
also you can't sort your list by publication date. if you want to read multiple series in chronological order, you have to add them in the reverse order you want to read them
White lotus has good writing, it’s funny, has good performers, and it takes place in stunning locations and indulges the gay male view
Absolutely mystifying why people would like it
i'm honestly pretty conflicted about it
absolutely nothing about the production is bad, the actors are all great, the writing is pretty good. the plot points don't blow my mind but everything works and i think it elicits the emotional reactions it wants to
i just don't get a lot out of stories about terrible people being terrible. it's just a message that's not for me in any way
but i didn't dislike the show because it's so well done
i just also didn't like it
Allegedly a voice of reason.

i think White Lotus succeeds at what it wants to be and that's just not my thing
which is okay

i am a bit underwhelmed by the end of Alexandra D'Addario's character arc. i think it requires a bit of development that happens off camera to really feel correct, and that bugs me
it's not "wrong", it's an entirely possible and believable outcome, it just needed like a few minutes of scene to lead us there because this isn't a show where characters make decisions when we're not looking

Lakota food can actually be quite good - it’s a mix of non-cultivated roots and leaves and berries, along with protein. Pretty great.
Then you get into the post reservation diet and that shit fucking slaps also - fry bread with preserves, Indian tacos, fucking amazing.
problematic
but also amazing
Yeah you can link the rise of adult onset diabetes to the commodity food staples they were given very easily... but good lord what they made with it is delicious.

I should be expected this, but Miles Morales looks even better than Spider Man Remastered. And I love the vibe already.
I have dropped the haptics down to soft so that I don't kill my hands.

which is basically the only reason i haven't played it
i tried the remaster on PC with kbam and after having played it on PS4 back when it originally launched lol no

i think White Lotus succeeds at what it wants to be and that's just not my thing
which is okay
This is ultimately where I landed
Its popularity obviously means it’s striking an intended chord, it’s just not for me.
But neither was GoT or Succession. I just can’t find joy in watching horrible people be horrible.
Succession worked for me because I personally know this strain of horrible, and spoilers be damned, horrible people don’t always win and the absolute collapse was my fucking catnip.
I liked GoT and White Lotus also, but for different reasons. Succession was better for them being horrible people, in the end.

Yeah this was super aggravating. I know it was largely meant as a shock to remind the audience that she’s also a piece of shit like the rest of them, but it seemed more contrived than any other arc in the season to get her there.
I can absolutely believe someone in a position of privilege and status would give up their autonomy and identity to preserve it, but all we ever see of her is how she fights against that and as you say, the heel turn happens off-screen.
Also I’m just not sure the overarching throughline of “extreme privilege ruins everyone” is very thoughtful or novel or accurate.

it's unbelievable
Do those comic apps have a feature that steers you to similar comics you have liked in the past or do they throw you in the deep end?
it's pretty deep end, though both have curated reading lists where you can follow storylines or a certain character

it's got some pretty interesting recipes
thankfully DC had a 7 day trial
Marvel's app is not great by any means but it's at least workable
Kind of a lot of greeble detail which has been slowing the process, but it wouldn't be cyberpunk without it.
