I don't think sphenes crown leads to anything. EW ends with a shot of metion in bird form, and she is never seen again.
The Meteion shot is basically a cinematic shot continuing on from the WoL telling the former Scions what their planning to do next, and serves as a reminder that Meteion is A) still alive, and free and happy—in a sense it's giving us the answer to what she's going to do, which is apparently to just be a bird flying around
one thing flows to another
meanwhile in Dawntrail you've got a hard cut from the grail and map of Tural on WoL's table to Sphene's crown in a black void, and the music fades out and is replaced with... what sounds like heartbeats to me, at least
the vibe is completely different, and definitely feels like it's there to make us remember the crown's existence (for whatever reason)
eh the crown is just sitting there in.. interspace or whatever which has been shut down. just getting the thing is a problem, let alone having it be a major story mcguffin after having 0 importance of any kind. the hourglass seems to be the focus from here on since it can open the other shards up
Piety and tenacity being garbage for going on a decade now. Maybe the people who were in charge of making the materia system interesting got converted into cryptocurrency.
on one hand i get that part of the goal of itemization is to make it easier over each raid tier to get your most optimal stats, and to not start off with perfect access to them
Thank christ the bee is dead, I am free from M2S PF hell
But, more importantly, China fanfest is happening right now and they showed off a screenshot of Eden Ultimate
Hell yeah Shiny Thancred. Wonder if this is the first phase, iirc the first screenshot of DSR was double dragons which was obviously the next to last phase in the fight, but Fatebreaker makes sense thematically as the first phase "guarding" Ryne/Gaia. Maybe we get a 2 target phase with Fatebreaker + Voidwalker or Shadow Dog, that would be cool.
I did 2 lockouts and saw up to beat 3 which seemed like pretty good progress but I raided too much to clear M1 so I don't know if I'll finish it this week
.6% enrage in M3S after I accidently fat finger bunny'd my suiton and fucked up my 1 minute trick window, drifting my burst for the rest of the fight and fucking up everything.
Like we had 3 deaths I think, but christ that thing dies if I play better, god that's annoying
one of the dumbest nadaams i've ever been on just now. both enemy teams just zerging us at our S rank over and over again, stopping us from capping it...but never like, decisively? and so we're just sitting there slowly accumulating points from killing them even though they're claiming oovoos all over the map. we're taking everything from them while getting absolutely nothing. and then we win!
Certainly one of the more different reasons I've had for the tank going AFK.

One of my raid tanks in WoW missed or had to bail on multiple raid nights because of tornados. He also raided on a hotspot because it was better than his regular internet.

Not the dumbest reason I’ve seen, which was also him, but also my RL and then my RL again getting disconnected mid-pull because their sub expired.
cleared M2 no problem yesterday, put in a day on 3 and I don't see any reason why I won't have it down tomorrow. got all the way to towers 2 in a few hours, which is the last mechanic I think
Reclears for 1 and 2 went smooth this week, but unfortunately m3s parties are brutal.
Feels like a real "pick 2 and only 2" kind of situation: you can get people who do mechs, people who do damage, or people who don't rage the fuck out and leave after two wipes.
Last night I had a "can do mechs and doesn't rage" group, but unfortunately there were a few people who just didn't do damage at all (back to back 5% enrages with 0 deaths and no damage downs, not much to do besides leave at that point)
That was followed up by the PF classic "knows the fight and does good damage but at least 2 people are criminally insane" group, where we were well on our way to a kill before someone missed the final tower in barrage 2, so our healer immediately just stops everything else to rage at them in party chat (party fell apart one pull later).
did a lockout of M4, only got to 75% cause I was just trying to figure stuff out myself. don't think I'll go for a clear this week, if reclears are quick next week I'll do it
I think this savage tier is very good overall, 4 being the best I think, but I’m a little surprised at sunrise sabbath in m4s phase 2. It’s not often they throw a mechanic with that kind of required positional precision in, especially for the first tier. Maybe this was the tier of trading puzzle-solving for execution, but even then, sunrise feels like it really stands out in the level of exactness required.
At least in a few weeks people will start skipping it I guess
My m4s prog was cut a bit short this weekend because 1) I got a 2XKO alpha code and that game is fucking crack, and 2) basically every PF group, no matter their listed prog point, was secretly an EE2 prog group in disguise
Cannon/Transition cleanup? EE2. Fresh P2 prog? EE2. Mustard Bomb cleanup (NO MEMES!!!!)? You better fucking believe that's EE2 prog. EE2 prog? No, never, that's witchhunt prog.
Finally, the last "transition cleanup" group of the night actually blasted through our prog point and never really wiped to EE2, progging all the way to sunrise. Don't think I'll clear it tonight, but damn that felt good

My group blind-playing each fight from the beginning of the game MiNE just beat Brute Justice this weekend!
Second longest we've taken since Savage Melusine. Rumour has it that those two are the hardest Savage fights in the game.
Soon we will have to test our mettle against Ultimates. Not sure if we'll actually do those blind or if those are hard enough already though.

Trying to completely blind prog ultimates is going to be a waste of your time imo, since there's a lot of puzzle solving that's not going to be fun to try to figure out. I'd read what each mechanic does and then try to come up with your own solution if you want, but I would defintely not try to figure them out from scratch. They're hard enough (well most of them) to do even if you know what each mechanic is and how to do them.

Yeah, I think that's the direction we'll probably go.
We're not militant about the blind prog anyway. Sometimes we get fills that give us hints, and just, y'know existing in the community means you learn things (for example, I already know about the UwU boss awakening mechanic, although not the specifics about how to trigger/fully resolve it).

Better luck tonight I suppose
Looking forward to proging m4, looks like a fun melee fight
