this is a genuine question that i have to give this preface because conveying sincerity on the internet is difficult, but do you not use the word "mitten"s? in america there's a distinct cultural difference between mitten and glove, but i would argue that all mittens are also gloves in the way that all rectangles are also squares

Come to think of it, potentially relevant, case-cracking info, I don't know that I've even seen an oven glove with a separate thumb, the ones I have a more of a whole hand affair, I do not know where that lands them on the glove-mitten divide!
