I believe 100% is broken due to a bug, a required water tower for you to destroy doesn't spawn correctly so it doesn't count and you get stuck at 99.95%
At least on the PC version there's a mod that fixes it but Xbox players are out of luck: https://videogamemods.com/justcause2/mods/100-percent-completion/

Just Cause 2 has an achievement for completing 75% of the game. If you're actually trying to do all the missions, which include the faction missions, you'd probably end up about 50-60%. So, yeah. Bit of a grind. Especially on the hardest difficulty. I finally just got the percentage to 72% which means that after finishing the last three missions in the game I'll get to 75%.

Could be worse. Could require 100%.

The "drive every vehicle" one was worse, imho.

Sooo… is there no way to log my Xbox profile out of an Xbox remotely? I can’t seem to locate it

It's close. But there are a bunch of locations listed in various websites. There is nothing that can make blowing up random shit around a map go any faster. Plus, the DLC vehicles count, so you can skip harder to find vehicles if you want.

    Both are bad.

    You're muckin' with a G!

I will say, I was absolutely sure that Just Cause 2 was the best in the series but going back and replaying it a couple years ago really disillusioned me of that idea.

For all the hate it got, I now think Just Cause 3 is the best.

Have you tried using the Remote Play feature of the xbox app?

I’m not sure if Remote Play lets you do that, I’m getting an error currently when trying to enable that feature with my own Xbox. So on that note, it looks like you have to set that up with the Xbox prior, and let’s assume I no longer have access to that other Xbox

Usually there’s a “log out of all devices” option for this kind of situation

There is a log out of all devices option - it’s on the Microsoft account page. On account.microsoft.com, under devices, you can remove devices individually, which signs you out. Or you can go to the Security section, open the Security Dashboard, and then choose Get Started under the Advanced Security option and scroll down to Sign Out Everywhere, which is self-explanatory.

Playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition. It’s been a few years since I played the trilogy but the combat in ME1 is a lot worse that I remember.

Also, no matter how bad I remembered the Mail missions being, it was so much worse. Glad the future games dropped that significantly.

Unfortunately, removing a device does not remove your Xbox profile from the Xbox you remove.

Also, I did find that Sign Out Everywhere option you mentioned, buuuuut it also doesn't work for Xbox:

What?!? Both should work, since it pointed me to that for a fix for my Xbox. But it does say it right there that it doesn’t sign it Xbox. Holy fuck, that’s useless.
The remove device should remove your account from it though - making it so that if someone tried using your account it would ask for the password. Just looked it up and that is what it does. Doesn’t remove your data or anything, but does make the account require your sign in to be used again. Closest thing you can do remotely for the Xbox.

Just Cause 2 is done. I get the feeling that it would have been 'meh' fourteen years ago. Blowing up stuff is satisfying, but if you like to collect all geegaws or whatever, there isn't a whole lot to keep you invested in it. It took me nearly 100 hours and I probably could've saved twenty or thirty of that if I hadn't been playing on Hardcore difficulty the whole way. But the walk through is basically 'play the game twice' and I was sure I'd rather not.

Driving controls are ass. Using the grapple and chute to get around is best for short spans. Using the extraction function is generally the best, but you must discover a location to jump out over it, you can't place a waypoint in that UI, and there is no way to make it go quickly. You have to sit through the cutscenes every time.

Not sure how I'd recommend it. Maybe newer ones control better, but I don't think I'll look into that. It's okay for what it is. It's probably best overall as a general mayhem time-waster. Something to just blow shit up during a spare thirty to sixty minutes.

And yet, it was a *tremendous* step up in quality from the first Just Cause.

Don't quite understand the circumstances but have you tried changing your account password? That + invalidating the logins should boot the console from the account? Is this a console that you don't have physical access to or something?

Felt like 2 was much better for its time than it would be now.

Both 2 and 3 were certainly more fun to me than 4 was. 4 just got boring, even with the new gadgets.

Yeah JC2 was definitely not meh back then, it was a hit and tons of folks liked it a lot. The scale of destruction and open-world shenanigans you could get up to and the open-ended ways you have to do stuff was huge for the time.

Magic flavored old school Ass Creed? Sure. The chained mind control looked slick although I wonder how smooth that is with a controller

Edit: FF14 full release on March 21 with the starter version available as a Gamepass perk. Assuming that's whatever's included in the base game these days but the tweet didn't specify

Yes, it's the base game (A Realm Reborn) and the first two expansions. (Heavensward and Stormblood)
You can play them for free with no restrictions on playtime or leveling or anything, but you have limits on communication, limited storage, a smaller Gil cap, no auction house or player housing, and no Ultimate raids. Other than that its all of the content of the Starter edition. The starter edition (or any other purchase) removes those limits but you can no longer play for free, have to keep a subscription.

Honestly it's an absurd amount of content, it's basically 3 full Final Fantasy stories plus dozens of dungeons and raids, like 15 jobs to play not to mention the 10+ crafting and gathering jobs, there's so much in there even in just the starter/trial.

Yeah if you plan on using the free account then stay on it as long as possible. I thought I could pay for a month or buy a cool mount with my free account but it immediately pulled me into the subscription based model and I had to pay monthly afterward. I should have done research on it.

  • NitsuaNitsua South CarolinaRegistered User regular
I knew they would need to release the previous Chornobyl games in order to have the 2nd one make sense. I had said that they should release them back when the sequel was announced as coming to Xbox Gamepass. I’m really glad they did the entire trilogy set, though I’m a bit sad they didn’t put it on Gamepass as well.

I'm probably not eligible for the free account, I have an old PC account that has up to Stormblood that I'll be using, never finished Stormblood though. Having the starter version as a perk is nice little savings though, only out of pocket will be the sub for a little bit.

You would have to create a new account with a new email if you wanted to do the free account

As long as you don't link your Xbox account to your old Square Enix account, you're fine. You can just start over with a new account.

  • CarpyCarpy Registered User regular
Oh no, definitely not going to start over. Once through ARR was plenty for me, even if they reworked a bunch of it. Plus starting over would mean having to rebuy Fat Chocobo and that just won't do

I really wanted to like sinking city but the combat was so frustrating and difficult, I had to give up. I hope they modify it for a sequel

  • tastydonutstastydonuts Registered User regular
Sinking City was pretty fun. It's good that Frogware finally got control of their game too.

Combat in the beginning is rough as you don't have the proper tools to be effective at all, but the same can be said of many games.

It’s been weird. The only way I’ve gotten credit for those is through the iPhone Xbox app. Takes a few hours. And the jewels credit that used to be through the Xbox iPhone app is now being given in the Profile Rewards section. Something messed up within the last 72 hours regarding rewards.

Did 3 get a lot of hate? I loved it at launch and the steam reviews look like they've always been positive at least. I know 4 got a bunch, and still seems to be not very beloved, but I feel like 3 is pretty easily the best full realization of the concept. It also had those fun little leaderboard challenges where you could see who on your friends list had the longest glide or whatever and try to one up them. 2 is great but I think has aged a bit worse. I've been getting tempted to go back to 3 lately, it's been too long....

I think the initial reaction to Just Cause 3 was the disappointment that it wasn't a significant upgrade over JC2 that JC2 was to JC1. It didn't have the wow factor.

  • FiatilFiatil Registered User regular
Yeah that's fair. It was more refinement than revolution -- the graphical leap alone from 1 to 2 was fairly huge.

Then they went revolution again with 4 and everyone hated it, so I'm sticking with my Mediterranean paradise.
