A few weeks ago I bought a new phone as my old one was kaput. I have Mint and made sure the new phone was compatible (Moto G Play 2023), and switched the SIM from the old phone to the new phone. Service worked fine. Ever since then, at some point overnight the phone loses calls, data and SMS. Wifi still works fine. I've contacted Mint customer service each time and they eventually get it working again, but then the next day back to no service. I'm at my wits end because even if I replicate the steps myself, it doesn't work.
I've tried reseating the SIM, resetting Network settings, resetting APN settings, adjusting APN settings (this is the step that seems most often successful, for example yesterday changing the APN name from Wholesale to wholesale is what did the trick. Today, changing it back to Wholesale didnt work, nor did changing it back to wholesale)
Two things, since we recently had issues moving from ATT to Google Fi:
1- Mint, like Fi, is a MVNO for TMobile. The issue could stem from TMo load balancing or otherwise refreshing/updating "second tier" phones. My Fi service sometimes drops and requires me to restart my phone to get it back instead of lowering me to LTE/4G. It's been better lately but still happens.
2- Try swapping to eSIM and see if you still have issues. Some of the iPhones in my family had issues with Fi SIMs after a few weeks and we had to swap them to eSIM (I'm on Pixel 6 Pro and still using a SIM)
No guarantee for any of these, but giving you some places to investigate
I had to get a new Sim from mint because I accidentally used the "give this to a friend for a free trial" Sim card they sent me and threw out the "this is your real deal" Sim card cause I didn't even notice they sent me two.
Might be able to just get a new one from them and try that?
