[Anime] of Winter 2025: Macross goes Global, Minmei not included, see HG for details
Spend one of them on post exam review bullshit with characters talking to the reader why they couldn't win the fight harder
and also start a new subplot and close it at the same chapter, instead of putting new lore in, I dunno, 2 arcs before that or something?

Most of the dialogue read to me like Gege trying to directly argue with the detractors who were (rightly) complaining that the protagonists’ plans were nonsense. I find that especially hilarious because, if true, it means that Gojo praising Sukuna in the airport might really have been Gege throwing a tantrum over the Sukuna fraud allegations.
disappointingly, it increasingly seems like this is going the way of all these types of story, boo.
New this week, Shinobi Undercover, from the writer and artist of Candy Flurry:
It could be more generic, I suppose, but I'm not quite sure how. I guess I haven't seen "Things like drugs won't work on me" just come out of thin air like that before, but I'm not sure that's a _good_ thing?
Tomino's Gundam series visit America from time to time, but outside of Zeta Gundam having a battle by the Golden Gate Bridge and a space launch from Cape Canaveral, there isn't anything distinctly American about the ruined cities they fly by most of the time.
Turn A is in America when it's not on the moon, isn't it?
Only indirectly -- in the last panel of this chapter, it looks very much like Nami's in a Lego house, and the cover of chapter 622 has them building a Lego house. (using very early Lego pieces, if I'm not mistaken, I remember those red roof bits from when I was a kid a _long_ time ago)
oh man that's a deep pull then, I dunno
one piece:

I think "physically located on what is supposed to be north america" and "set in a culture which is supposed to be the United States" are different questions
I legitimately thought it was possible the author might kill Frankie off when we got to that panel.
Then it occurred to me there aren't a lot of stories that can still do that to me. It's either you see the death coming a mile away, or you know it's a fake-out. It's rare something happens and you suddenly realize "Oh shit, this character might actually die here."

I mean Turn A Gundam takes place where the United States as we know it isn't around, and the nation/city-state/territories we see exist as a kind of a weird mash-up of turn of 1900s United States and colonial European influences, but then you also have one character who is straight-up just Ulysses S. Grant with a different name.

Yeah this chapter was such a tedious read, if your ass-pulls require this much explanation then maybe just don't do them, or instead spend a few pages on a flashback after each reveal and then move on. I don't even remember half the stuff they're talking about now.

maybe she's in a Lego house but it's giant-sized?

Ichi the Witch had the Iruma style humor this week. I'm really digging it.

I didn't know Iruma ended. I'm hoping it was a good ending and not a "we're cancelled suddenly" ending
I need to remember where I left off

The DanDaDan showings here were only in select theaters and only at 4PM, so I guess I'll be waiting for the CR showing.
(Maybe it's for the best, I can imagine some of the content in episode 1 would be kind of awkward in a theater...)

No, the Iruma manga's still updating regularly. The writer's just also writing for this. And consulting on the Iruma Lower Decks spinoff, "We Are The Main Characters Of The Demon World", but they're not involved with "if Episode of Mafia" that I can tell.

Yeah. For example, the entirety of the Garma arc of 0079 is set in the US, with Icelina being the daughter of the mayor of New York City and the final battle with Garma IIRC being in Seattle.
But the city bits might as well be set in Europe for as much as the architecture matters, and the USA's main contribution to the flight path of the White Base is mostly just... desert canyons, I guess.

The author is too cruel to kill Frankie off; that would mean an end to his suffering!
Aniplex unveiled an original animation series by director Yasuomi Umetsu and animation studio SHAFT titled Virgin Punk, during the Aniplex Online Fest stream on Monday. Aniplex revealed the teaser visual and the promotional video for the first story in the series titled "Clockwork Girl," which will debut in early summer next year in two cinemas in Tokyo and Osaka.
Depending on how far we get technically we won't see it this season. Also Banchi should be there if there's a just God

Where did the past season end? Arlong Park?
Because they kinda need to rush through to Alabasta to keep the actors from aging out of their roles before they get to laughtale
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
There's far too many things that will be at risk before the show catches up to the manga to worry about the actors aging out. Production companies, Netflix, Shonen Jump, the nations involved in licensing, the global economy...

This isn't breaking the fourth wall when it happens, but it also feels a bit lampshade-y to me:

Live action Robin has been cast. The actress is age appropriate for the role as well! Also she has the nose which many will say isn't important but they don't deserve Robin's grace
I wonder how they will do her Devil Fruit.

Alabasta won't be this season. I think they'll get to Drum Island and stop there.
