Can we all agree that the cast of Friends would be killed instantly?

I feel like Ross, the largest Friend, would eat them before they even got to fight.

If we involve Fraiser from Fraiser in the battle, must he fight Cheers Fraiser?

    yep

Name a single Friends character that could even put a dent in Mr. Belvedere.

The cast of Titus could hold their own on this list

Papa Titus is basically indestructible/an absolute tank, Dave is a complete psycho/wildcard, Erin comes from Irish Catholics, and Christopher got set on fire/beaten/shot at/raised by Papa Titus, etc etc

Only weak link there is Tommy, who you could probably pickup and throw as your opening salvo, so not even totally useless

Oh, and if you're counting Juanita, I mean, you've got a championship team there

Shes from the fucking streets. They never showed it but you know she always had a knife somewhere on her person.

@The Lovely Bastard You're right. Rachael brings the ring out option to the table, assuming the fighters have to stay in the Cheers bar / the preselected alley.

I feel like Bull from Night Court is worth 5 ordinary men, unless there's some deep lore about Bull being a pacifist that I don't know about.

honestly if I was gonna be really strict about this (let's say we were doing some kind of bigger combat bracket) I would probably limit the scenario only to shows with a laugh track. not that stuff like Modern Family or The Good Place aren't sitcoms, they are in a general sense, but "has a laugh track" does a good job of narrowing down the spirit of the question, I think

has a laugh track would unfairly rule out certain shows like the office, parks n rec, abbott elementary, etc. basically the mockumentary division

yeah I'd be fine with that to be honest - they do fall under the very broad umbrella of "light half-hour comedy show" but there's just so many differences between those and more classic sitcoms that I'd be fine ruling them out for the purposes of something like this

or at least I'd be interested to see how a "laugh track only" bracket shakes out versus an "any light comedy show" one

either way Barry definitely doesn't count - it's got moments of humor but overall it's definitely not a comedy

How I Met Your Mother would put up a fight.

Ted and Barney are dead in seconds but we’ve seen what Marshall can do and Robin is a complete badass.

You know Mr. Belvedere was a nazi-killing machine in his younger days and I bet he hasn't slipped an inch.

He can take any Manhattanite easy.

Malcolm in the Middle is a decent corner to back. I forget the names, but the mother is definitely capable of murder and the little one would avoid the fight like a Hunger Games participant, stalking from the rafters, then strike at the last one standing.

    M.A.S.H.

They’re all soldiers so they’ve been through some rigorous training.

    I’m not counting them out.

My question is what sitcom crew would be the worst in a fight?

Currently I'm feeling Party Down, but I haven't thought about it for more than ten seconds

    so my answer is scrubs.

Naw despite good points I still think Friends would fall first. No discipline, no experience, no cohesion, the diets of 20-30 year olds living in New York during the 90’s. So much bread and coffee. One sucker punch and they’ll shit their pants.

  • The Lovely BastardThe Lovely Bastard Registered User regular
i think the party down crew has so much repressed tension that a fight with them escalates into an accidental murder

i think carla, cox, and janitor would put up a fight

somebody said modern family earlier and i think even with their numbers they would get demolished by most other casts in a quick instant

I feel like even if you were to take the fact that most of the cast are literal children, and you went with hypothetical adult Belcher children

The Belcher family is canonically awkward, cowardly, and specifically, repeatedly shown to be ineffective in fight situations

    Wait

    Seinfeld

Nobody in Seinfeld would be worth a damn in a fight.

remember folks there are no rounds here, this is an anchorman style free for all brawl

which begs the question…who would form uneasy alliances

King of Queens would be a strong contender.

Kevin James is a beast, his coworkers are all prettt big and they work a relatively physical job.

Jerry Stiller would be the wild card

This was the first question I considered when thinking Always Sunny vs. Cheers

Except instead of uneasy alliances it was "which characters would fuck nasty immediately"

but he's the only one in the show that is repeatedly beaten up

Dr Cox is mostly just mouthy

I think that tbh the weakest crew might be the Scrubs ones. If we're going American sitcoms I think probably the always Sunny gang combine being extremely immoral and surprisingly aggressive

But yes the Letterkenny characters are probably the toughest fightiest guys
