I don't like Jazz

Well "jazz" is probably the most stylistically diverse idea of a genre there is, so yes that is a silly thing to say. But you don't have to do homework if you don't want to.
Happiness is within reach!

I can’t be the only person who completely misread the thread title
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Does anyone have any recommendations for trying to like Jazz more or is the sort of thing where it's actually correct and nobody should like it?
I could give you a couple of recs but I'd argue that what you really need to "get" Jazz is a bit of understanding. The logic from which the average Jazz piece functions is different enough from the way Pop-music has developed that it can feel alienating. The Podcast "Strong Songs" does a musical breakdown of "So What" by Miles Davis that's very understandable for non-musicians and really unlocks your brain to the logic of Jazz music. I highly recommend it.
"So What" and the album its from: "Kind of Blue" is also a good jazz rec in general.
You’re probably hungry. Why don’t you eat some of your Arizona walnuts?

I mean I have enjoyed some jazz stuff before it's not like I hate it. But I have never thought 'oh man I know what I'm gonna listen to on the way home from work: Jazz!
Musically, I think my most listened to genres are punk, ska, classical, classic rock, showtunes, roughly in that order.
I've found that I really appreciate strong melodies and strong forward movement which seems antithetical to jazz but I dunno maybe I'm just inexperienced.

You can always learn to like new things. I used to think that I hated piano jazz but turns out that I was hearing the wrong piano jazz.
Another way into jazz is to get into video game jazz canon.
One way that you can think of jazz is that it tended to be people taking well-known melodies from other genres and playing them in a jazz context. In that way the melody is very important in jazz. The melody at the core of a jazz piece might be a musical theater melody so The people hearing it in a jazz context know what they're hearing immediately. They are familiar with it. Therefore it becomes a way for the musicians to springboard off of it to exemplify their own creativity and athletic musical skills. Unfortunately most of those melodies have left the cultural zeitgeist. The best way to recreate the feeling of listening to jazz when it was big is to look for music based on melodies you already know and video game music has become a great avenue for that.

How about “Feel the beat drop, jazz and hip hop
Drippin' in your dome, makes you zone and bop
Funk and fusion, a fly illusion
Keeps ya coastin' on the rhythm you're cruisin'”
Yeah if you like strong melodies there's tons of VGM jazz covers out there.
Consouls, Super Soul Bros, Dom Palombi, 8 Bit Big Band, Split Screen, J-Music Ensemble, InsaneInTheRain... Etc
Also a of classic jazz songs from the great American songbook are all using musical theater songs so they generally have a Good singable melody too

But doctor, I am Jizz
There are some styles of music that I don't get but I can still appreciate in some way, can see how they might be liked. Not jazz though.
Preach
yes you can
the hell
I love Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, Mary Lou Williams
And this may surprise you
Thelonious Monk
taking this at face value
could you post some music you do like? maybe we could find some common ground between that and some forms of jazz
it's a very diverse genre, so it's hard to say what you're objecting to when you say you don't like it
