As a Matter of Fact, it worked so well, the duo went on to do it again for Another 48 Hrs.

I just wonder where all of the other black people are.
It just seems to be the one guy.
And Keith David but he’s in everything.
Oh Don Cheadle

I have very vivid memories of visiting the Volcano webpage back in the day. Very early HTML 1.0 stuff, but it had a flash game of you driving a firetruck or something which ended with you barricading / backstopping the concrete dividers to keep the lava from flowing. I think I finally saw the movie a year later.
I remember having a classmate over for our government project in 8th grade and going to doubleyou doubleyou doubleyou dot white house dot com on the family computer in the kitchen with my mom present.
I don't remember the first website I ever went to, but one of the sites my brother and I would often go to is one that featured a parody video of Brittney Spears "Oops I Did It Again" redone into "Oops I Farted Again". Animations and everything.
We went over to a family members place who built PC’s as a hobby to see if he could sell my mom and dad on getting one for our household. He was trying to explain the internet to them and I remembered seeing www.whatever urls all over things around then, and picked up a nearby Hunt for Red October official movie soundtrack jewel case and checked the back for a web address and sure enough it was there. So yeah, The Hunt for Red October official website was my first.
Apparently it was enough to convince them because we had a desktop setup a few weeks later.

Fake Edit: Oh shit, it's on the Internet Archive!

Sadly, looks like the Shockwave plugins are not present.
Although I love that one of our local Chinese food places here still has a website out of 1990

Such a dreamboat
It did not go over super well.

But I can't get Volcano insurance, that's Lois' rainy day fund!
I love that salesman, he's one of my favorite gag characters
