I'm probably gonna want Lighter, but overlap with Koleda is a bit unfortunate. Might be a Qingyi situation, where a roll a bit, but accept the results even if I don't get him.

I was expecting him to be a fire attacker, so I suppose I'm actually happier with the change. Having both characters, I definitely like Soldier 11 more than Koleda, so I wasn't enthused about potentially dropping her. And I suppose I could at least take Koleda into hollow zero for more reliable team building.

I'll still get Lighter but that is too bad he's the same class as Koleda.

Just going to have to field both. Koleda, Lighter, Ben sounds about right

    Patch notes for 1.2
    https://zenless.hoyoverse.com/en-us/news/126054

    Highlights (for me, at least)
Trust events for Piper and Lucy also finally added.
HZero max license level upgraded from 60 to 90.
    More speedup for HZero stuff
New HZero mode skipping TV stuff entirely
    Battlepass now goes to 60
    Fixed the M6 Lucy bug
    Fixed the Qingyi bug

    Crit Node Phase 1:
    Atk and damage TAKEN +20%.
When gaining a shield team recovers energy and gains +20% more Atk

    Crit Node Phase 2:
    When shielded, anomaly buildup +25%
While afflicted with anomaly, dmg +35%

    Crit Node Phase 3:
    Dmg +25%
+25% Atk when burn/shock inflicted and instant 20% daze

    ---

Rough bonuses for Ellen, but Jane/Seth should stomp the first two, leaving lots of room to spare. The returner bonuses seem pretty nice too. Free A-rank W-Engine and get to use any standard 5* (one at a time) that's auto leveled for a short period. Need to not log in for 2 weeks though.

Looking at those notes, the stamina overflow ticks at 1/3rd normal speed so it'll take 30 days of overfill to max out the 2400 storage

Got my Caesar. Was on a guarantee, so it was fairly painless. Got two Pipers along the way, and a bonus Lucy. We take those!

Gonna need to take some time until Caesar is really up to speed, since I only did a little bit of pre-farming. At least have some okay disks she can use until I can farm the new ones, and she can gaft the wengine Seth was using for now. Just taking her to 50 first, and then will hyper-focus her core skill.

It's not much of a spoiler, but it is super funny that they just up and added the new Notorious Hunt boss immediately, with a big flashing "NEW" on it, active right away.

    E:
Yoooooo. Grace got a second line on the character select screen. Fucking incredible since she's apparently hard stuck at the top of it.

    E2:
Tried Blitz Mode once. It's basically just a boss rush where you get a few random resonia between rounds, and then I think 3 3-packs of specific resonia. It took ~12 minutes to clear with Jane-Seth-Qingyi, which is certainly faster than a regular Withering Garden run, but all the bosses FELT tanky as absolute shit because you have like a third the resonia against them as you normally would. Also, there's an early difficulty modifier that disabled a bunch of the attack indicators. And I haaaaate that.

New defensive resonia type too. It has that "everybody has shared HP" mechanic. Mostly stuff for buffing when losing HP or losing HP more slowly instead of the Shield resonia... shield stuff.

    E3:
    Jumpscare early 5*
    Red Moccus

    ...Yay.

The new Ambush Node is some hot garbage, and I'd like to hear any sane non-whale defend it. I got to the final stage, walked into the room, and immediately turned the game off.

Although I guess it just exists to be a big middle finger saying 'pull Caesar and spend $$$ refreshing to build her ASAP if you want to clear it' so I don't know why I expected anything else.

I do not understand why this is the direction they're determined to take this game. There are even easier and less frustrating ways to be greedy, they've built several other games around them.

Oh, interesting. The blank coffee now just gives 20 more energy over the others, so it's just straight up better since that stuff only applies for one card anyway, and the extra energy could be used for Routine Cleanup or Elite Hunts instead.

    E:
Ambush Nodes are pretty rough. I'm not doing 5 yet since it has story elites... but the one with Thanatos and his asshole brother Thanatos? Oof. Everything continues to hit like a fucking truck here too. Pretty much had to resort to playing keepaway with Ellen's faux dodges until one would cough up a parry-able attack. Both sides of 5 are ice resistant too, so Ellen may be in for a struggle. May have to basically cheese node 5 with Grace and endless keepaway.

I'm pretty sure the focused coffees give at least 20 stamina worth of additional mats when used on a full 5 card, so if you need mats then those coffees are at least equivalent. Once you don't need mats anymore or it's a day that doesn't offer any mats you need, then the new 80 coffee is blatantly the best option.

Had a pity breaker pop out Koleda at around 80~ pulls, only 20 of which were on this banner since I was fishing for more Anbys and Seths during Jane's. Going almost all the way to 90 hurts when you're hoping for luck on multiple banners though.

Caesar popped out around 50-60 pulls later. Seth's Peacekeeper apparently popped out during the pulls so that's pretty good, since I ended up not pulling on the weapon banner. I cooould give it to Seth... but I'll put him into Agent Daycare and level him up that way for now; I only barely had enough XP for Caesar. I'll give him back his toy when I decide whether I want to invest in this Original Transmorpher or something else comes along, then actually scrounge up the stamina to get weapon xp to upgrade it, and level him up too. For the time being his job is enabling Jane's faction bonus and defensive assists then swapping back into Jane.

Standard rotation coffees say "For 1 enemy card" so you don't need to do a full 5 to gain the benefits. There are special event ones that say for 1 combat simulation, or 6 enemy cards, or 2 routine cleanups, etc.

That means standard coffees are worth 80 stamina... so honestly what is that advantage of drinking them over 80 flat stamina instead?

If you're going to be farming those things anyway, I guess drinking the proper coffee saves you a very small amount of time. Since you could get 80 stamina worth of materials for killing 60 stamina worth of enemies.

Of course, you're probably saving at most 3 seconds, so it's probably not worth the time it takes to think about it.

So far Jane, Seth, and Caesar has been fun to run. Two buffs for Jane and Caesar is great for Nineveh during her invulnerable bullet hell.

The extra 20 energy on the coffee is also better for IK exp and for the various daily/weekly missions for consuming energy.

Alright Ambush Node all S'ed. That last one is just mean with it's anti-ether + anti-ice typing. Putting Jane to lead team 1 and Caesar to lead team 2 ended up solving it for me though. Caesar doesn't even need discs or anything just spam parry all day until stunned and then fire everything. The real challenge of the first one is the giant freaking robot blocking sight of the new shadow clone.

E: Ah, this was a change from the pre-load, so the below was already active/in-game. Well, still, the Lucy stuff is good to know.

Apparently Caesar's Ex and Hold Basic are both bugged. The former isn't doing as much damage as it should, and the latter is doing more damage/daze than it should.

Lucy's boars are also getting a change and will be inheriting her AP as well. That's probably related to the bug fix. Her boars didn't have any anomaly stats, but did contribute a small amount of buildup on her M6, so could have a number of weird effects, the worst was that if a boar-drop triggered, she came on field before it hit/exploded, and that was enough to proc Burn, it would wipe out all fire anomaly damage and the burn would do 0. I assumed they just fixed that, but it sounds like they want the boars to actually contribute full anomaly stuff too, which might actually be a slight nerf because they were coded like Bangboos, and contributed buildup without affecting damage. Presumably you're not building her for AP though, so it may be weaker, though her buildup is still really low outside of Piper/Corin boar-storms.

Ben, Lucy, Piper/Corin handles that stage without issue and the game gives a free copy of Ben, Corin, and with the Overlord's Feast Event we'll get a free Lucy for completing it. Ben sits on the field 80+% of the time with Lucy swapping in for buffs and minions while Corin provides damage entirely through Parries, tapping Ex Special before immediately swapping out, and ults during stun window.

Granted I can imagine players prioritized Ice and Ether with the starting banners so they might not have a fire team built unless they rolled S11 or Koleda early, but that stage is definitely trying to sell us on Parry Defenders (Ben/Caesar) unless you are one of those players than can just Billy/ZH perfect dodge while maintaining constant pressure through absolutely everything forever.

Damn it. Fairy Auto-complete can't be used for any non-TV missions. IE all rally missions and combat missions that have random crates tucked SOMEWHERE, like every story mission in chapter 4, are all exempt from it.

    Great.

I am completely over Pulchra as an enemy. She is 100% bullshit. The randomly becoming totally immune to attacks is bad enough, as is the whipping out of an SMG to chunk you for half your life from anywhere on the map, but she'll do the immunity bullshit even in response to things like Qingyi's charged basic counter. Thanks for the bullet time slow down showing I countered correctly so I can see my attack go straight through her as she keeps attacking and hits me for another third of my life.

    E:
Did manage to S rank Ambush 5 though, but it took probably 30 tries. Ellen, Qingyi, Soukaku on the front. Jane, Seth, Rina on the back. Jane + Seth basically facerolled either side. Just spam dodge counters. If the shield drops, Seth effortlessly puts it back up with assist counter or Ex into charged. But mostly assist counter. Rina was there to hold Slice of Time.

Ellen on the front was a massive struggle, but the mech itself isn't resistant to ice, so it could be disposed of in not AWFUL time. Just needed to manage the bullshit damage from Pulchra while dealing with it and then play hyper conservative against her after that because she can and will just ignore dodge/assist counters. Tried using Grace a few times on both sides, but her dodges doing INTO the enemy instead of repositioning the way I wanted/expected was frustrating the shit out of me, and you really need to delay her dodge counter or she loses distance AND I-frames, which just gets her hit by the nonstop barrage of attacks. Her damage is also so bad, especially when you can't fully proc all the shocks because you're being chased down by a second fucker at the same time.

i didnt even realise caesar was defense i like d characters i should probs grab her i guess

i havent levelled any support over 20 yet and my only anomaly is an unbuilt grace so maybe i just commit to the defense stun dps team theme

although ive been running double dps + ben or ben + seth + anby more than one of each, defense characters just tend to have quite fun kits

wait you can spend energy to get the weekly boss rewards now? hell yeah thats sick

did a couple of takes of 2 thanatos one billy and this isnt hitless but it looks cool so here u go

thanatos is one of the sickest enemies in the game and if u dont agree with this u will NEVER be able to pull off stiletto heels like he can

the new set is also fire i didnt see what it was in advance but dam i need that for the homies like anby who are off field charging up their lasers. i dont use any of the team damage buffing sets atm so that would be a nice boost

They also added the weekly boss drops to the Outpost Logistics. There are 4 boxes there you can trade 150 Z-Merits each for a boss drop of your choice.

I somehow never even considered giving Proto Punk to anyone besides the Defense characters. The 2-piece effect would of course be wasted, but that's not really a big deal.

I'm definitely still going to stick with Swing Jazz for most characters; the likes of Nicole and Lucy (with M2) like using their chain attack anyway. But I could definitely see using Proto Punk on, like, Soukaku.

Alright, I got Caesar to level 55 and her core skill is at E. I'm definitely going to get the last core skill level for her (given I will for most characters eventually, I haven't bothered with it for anybody else yet), but I think I'm gonna shift over to the new drive disks first.

I know it's just RNG, but getting ANY passable Chaos Jazz disks has been horrifically bad. Elfy coughed up probably 60-70 of the fucking worst disks I have ever seen. AP is apparently an ultra rare stat on these stupid things.

I saw quite a few people complaining about poor performance this chapter, and I wasn't seeing too much of it.

...Until I tried doing the new rally commissions that have the constant lightning strikes that chunk you for 2-3k damage. Which become a bit harder to react to when the game all of a sudden starts struggling and the framerate crashes to 5 FPS.

I want to preface this by pointing out that I have Caesar and waited for her to be up to speed before attempting the new Ambush nodes, and obviously used her on one of the teams in every stage. But I was able to S-rank all of them without having to retry anything. They were certainly challenging, but with playing it safe (and not banking on my shield to take hits; I'm honestly not sure if I ever would have died without it), they didn't feel as dangerous as the previous survival challenges. Or maybe I just have more experience with how to tackle them now.

Teams I used on the last two stages, since they are obviously the problems:
4th: Zhu Yuan/Anby/Nicole, Piper/Caesar/Lucy - Not my first rodeo doing a survival mission against Jane; double thanatos was definitely more annoying. I basically just dodged around until they separated; then I focused one of them while keeping an eye on the other one, as it basically spammed ranged attacks.

5th: Soldier 11/Koleda/Lucy, Piper/Seth/Caesar - Honestly Seth didn't help too much; shields don't stack, so he was basically just another source of buffs since Lucy was busy on the other team. On the first side, I actually decided to focus the mech down first. Tried my best to keep an eye on Pulchra, but the mech is so big that you wind up having to rely a lot on audio cues. Having Koleda was incredibly helpful here; not only is her defensive assist into EX special combo super good for building up a ton of daze safely, but her dodge counter is so incredible for these challenges. She did take a good bit of damage when I attempted to do her basic combo; got tagged just before her invincibility frames. Might've been saved by actually leveling up my HP and Defense drive disks. The second side was just going back and forth between Piper spinning for a second and one of the others doing a defensive assist. I actually used Seth's ult at one point to get more assist points, because I absolutely ran out even with all of these characters being good at parrying.

My biggest complaint is just that these nodes aren't permanent. With the Disputed nodes, you could tell people who don't have the tools to deal with it to just try again later. Here, you could definitely be in trouble if you don't have any of Caesar, Seth, Koleda, or Jane.
