Let's say goodbye to this summer (especially on this incredibly hot day) and welcome the best season of the year: Autumn!
Autumn, also known as fall, is one of the four temperate seasons on Earth. Outside the tropics, autumn marks the transition from summer to winter, in September (Northern Hemisphere) or March (Southern Hemisphere). Autumn is the season when the duration of daylight becomes noticeably shorter and the temperature cools considerably. Day length decreases and night length increases as the season progresses until the winter solstice in December (Northern Hemisphere) and June (Southern Hemisphere). One of its main features in temperate climates is the striking change in colour for the leaves of deciduous trees as they prepare to shed.
Association with the transition from warm to cold weather, and its related status as the season of the primary harvest, has dominated its themes and popular images. In Western cultures, personifications of autumn are usually pretty, well-fed females adorned with fruits, vegetables and grains that ripen at this time. Many cultures feature autumnal harvest festivals, often the most important on their calendars.
What does the Autumn season bring into our lives? Beautiful colors, fabulous weather, great clothes, bonfires, pumpkin spice, cozy nights, football season, and more.
But I'll tell you what Autumn means to me: SOUP SEASON
If you need to connect to the season by way of cinema, don't worry, we have you covered:
So, how do you all celebrate this new season? Any upcoming events you are looking forward to partaking in as we escape summer? Feel free to also chat about what's happening in your direct world, as our leaves go from green to red, orange, & yellow.

I can also start dipping into my Halloween collection of dresses so I'm very stoked for that
Though this also has me realizing I need a proper "welcome fall" ritual! Maybe when the leaves turn? For over a decade I've tried to celebrate the first snow of the season with the nicest hot chocolate I can make or buy, but I've never had something I specifically do when the season turns into the *best* one. Hm.

Indulge in a combo of a bowl of squash soup paired with a pumpkin spice latte.
Could this Autumn also mean another playthrough of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey??
I wish I actually liked coffee and could enjoy lattes!
Hm, but a place near me does pumpkin scones...

I'm also not looking forward to keeping those falling leaves out of the pool I inherited with the house.
But it also does mean that the time of year where I can shut down the pool and not worry about maintaining it is coming soon.
It's a series of ups and downs
If you are ever back in the DC area it was a pretty darn quick trip out that way, they're just past Centreville VA
Thanks, global warming. We're all going to die.
I plan to play through alan wake 2 next month and maybe watch all the Nightmare movies.
What's a warm autumn like there? (Curious how close you match up to the Canadian style, which is also probably going to be too warm)

Currently (evening) 22 celsius, and the trees continue to be lush and green. This is predicted to last at least until early October.
It's always been my favorite season and only partially because my birthday's in it.
The local nature center has a haunted trail walk that I'm looking forward to doing.

Typically that's our weather here in southern Ontario, when the leaves'll fully turn in early October or late September. We're still having overly temperate days at like 25-28C, but nights are closer to 15 which is at least closer to normal for this time of year??

Not here in the great black swamp
My MD RennFest season is kinda stuffed with other things that are taking up most of my weekends or money (especially three different weddings) so I'm only going there once, but I might fuck around and see if I can get down to the NCRF near Charlotte later on in the season
The ones booting up in the area are all deep summer
