My favorite soup is the one that everyone else likes, which would've been revealed with a poll

I hate polls, I can't have the residue of a one-time vote dogging me on every post through an entire thread

I need a blanket I can put on my lap so I can easily move the gremlins when I need to stand up, which has been known to happen from time to time.

    what a horrifying concept

    We've fully transitioned into a vibes-based culture

But more seriously with anime you're asking a double-translation (not counting the primary transmission from mind to language); one in language and one in culture; translation companies for them tend to revert to stock phrases or inherently generalized gauzy ideas of the dialogue in question

The reason why subs are better than dubs, then, is so that you can glean the overall vibe from the original speaking parts combined with the subtitles: that is the gist, the totality of what is trying to be communicated; and we also acknowledge its inherent imperfection, so therefore the specifics are unimportant

    The best soups are:

    - pho
    - menudo
    - a good broth that's been simmered far longer than your eager hands could imagine

I made a very tasty sandwich for lunch

    - pan-toasted Hawaiian loaf slices
    - Dill mustard
    - baby swiss
    - Smoked pastrami
    - Pan fried sauerkraut
    - thin sliced tomatoes

Very nice harmony of sweet and savory, unctuous and acidic, smoky and clean.

i have this precooked half duck from costco that i just need to crisp up in a pan or under a broiler for a few minutes. trying to decide if i'm fine with just some salt or if i want to figure out a fresh herb sitch or some sort of sauce. duck is so often paired with some sort of fruit reduction and i just did that lamb with pomegranate yesterday so i'm trying to do less sugar today.

i could put on a stringer tanktop and just do protein with salt and then some steamed greens in a tupperware, pretend i'm a bodybuilder etc

I’m a know soup hater, as I feel it’s no way to eat enough to feel satisfied.

But I’m changing it by viewing it more as your main dish will be some good bread and condiments. Like maybe bacon, maybe some nice steamed soy beans? Maybe you bake the bread and it’s fresh. Maybe you cut off an inch thick piece of brie and put on the bread. And then centered in front of you, since we need to perpetuate the charade, is the soup bowl.

My main home cooked meal is veggie chili. But there are too many good soups to choose from!

I think maybe the first “dinner food” I ever cooked was a carrot soup with lemongrass and coconut milk

I used to make this Virginia style peanut soup from how to cook everything vegetarian that was so good; it had peanut butter and cream in it, o god

Wait, tomato, maybe I choose tomato

The creamy tomato soup at bread company makes me throw up. I got digestion issues. I wonder if they put a preservative in it.
