Unfortunately, the moderator position has become far too stressful for me, and I have to call it quits.
All of this shit we are all dealing with is not at all what I signed up for last spring, and it has spiraled far beyond what mental and emotional effort I can put into it in my spare time on a free volunteer labor basis, to the point I'm having trouble even bringing myself to load up the forums anymore. I regret abandoning the SE community during the effort to migrate to a new forum in this time of stupid crisis but I just can't do it anymore. Big thanks to Geebs and Penny Arcade for putting us in this position.
Unfortunately, my quitting leaves no one active who is exclusively here to moderate and advocate for SE++, as Whippy has mostly withdrawn from forum moderation and Sterica has merely been helping me out the last few weeks, and I don't know that she wants to take over full time. So I guess try to behave yourselves like when there weren't really any mods active, in the couple of years before I was doing it. I have no idea about or say in what the remaining moderation staff intend to do about SE.
Right as I was deciding to quit, we coincidentally (actually for real coincidentally, I had already decided to quit before I heard about it yesterday and they have nothing to do with my decision) started discussing some new community rules some users from different parts of the site came up with together for the remainder of the transition. I don't have the energy left to really read them in detail or think about the consequences as I am so fucking cooked, but I guess try to give them a fair shake. I would prefer to see the community survive intact to see a new site. If Sterica does decide to take on more SE++ responsibility know that she has my full confidence. Please be kind to the newer D&D mods as well because they are trying very earnestly to reach out and not to leave SE behind in the forum migration. Finally, I hope y'all that have beef in D&D with other users or the mods can work it out somehow. It's not worth it.

Does anyone have the lore of why SE++ tends to have few/no mods? That might be useful to understand for the new forum setup.
Is there a process for new mods? Should people put their name forward?
Did this already happen (and if so, is there a thread link) or did you mean they will try to reach out at some point in the future?
