Ideas for a family reunion

Quick background: my extended family (with a few notable exceptions) are very religious, and the many many kids (ranging all the way from 5 to 20) are pretty indoctrinated as well. Drinking, smoking, movies rated higher than PG, etc., are pretty frowned upon. As you can probably guess, they aren't my usual crowd.

That said, I have a week-long family reunion coming up. These reunions are held on a bunch of big houseboats in the middle of a lake, so I'm mostly stuck with my family for the duration.

This year I want to be a little less of a dick and get into the spirit of the reunion. Are there any activities PA fans can suggest that are suitable for this crowd and can include a whole range of ages (probably 8+)? I'm thinking some kind of trivia for the adults later at night, any kind of easy-to-get-into party games or board games, any water-based activities, etc. I'd like to bring something along that will be new to my family, but won't offend them.

(tl;dr? good party game suggestions that aren't racy and don't involve drinking)

You could do, like, a Survivor-style mafia game (like Phalla).

How many people will there be?

Well, I would have suggested Cornhole (aka Corntoss):, but since you're on a houseboat, I'm not too sure that's such a great idea unless you know you're going to have a lot of room to toss (and not going to deal with completely uncoordinated drunkards who toss sideways).

As far as number of people: around 20 "adults" (16+), ten kids ages 8-16, and another ten or so little ones, roughly 40 people total. A mafia-style game would be pretty cool for the older kids and the adults, I might look into that.

Maybe a game like Apples to Apples, its really fun and quite a few people can play it at the same time.

Assassination is fun. I played a few games last summer. I forget the specifics of the rules, but it's basically a group 'whodoneit' game that works well with large groups of people that sort of know each other. Just need a deck of cards to assign roles and one or two mediators.

I would suggest 'Taboo', but I'm guessing a lot of stuff already is... :P

I'll second Apples to Apples... it's a pretty unoffensive little game, although you might want to pull out cards like "sexy" if they're very easily offended. Also... The Great Dalmuti is great fun with large groups of people, and it's guaranteed to be lively since everyone gets up and sits down in a new order each round. I can't really think of anything offensive about it, other than it has cards with numbers and pictures and jokers, which might send older family members into a tirade about the evils of card games.
