This has happened twice in the past maybe four days or so, and never before that. Basically, I'll come back to my laptop after I've been gone for a while, log back in, and then start to do something and the screen will go black, almost like it's going back to sleep. However, nothing I press can get it to come back on, and the entire computer isn't shut down; I can still shut down the computer (I can hear the windows log off noise if I do the correct key patterns to shut down) so it's just a problem with the screen.
If it matters, the entire time I'm always plugged into an outlet; it's never running on its battery. My only amateur guess would be that something dealing with display is overheating, as the area I keep my laptop in isn't the best ventilated and thus doesn't receive much of the AC.
Anyone know what's up?

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?
I opened it up and everything (warranty was already expired) but I didn't know what to do once I got there. So I put everything back together and it starts up fine and everything, but the problem persists.
Something that I noticed before even opening it up was that when it shuts down there is a high pitched buzzing noise just before. So, something is wrong.
For me shutting the lid, waiting a second, then opening up would cause the screen to come back on. I got some flickering the next day then a corner went really hot and a burnt black color.
I wish I could be more helpful. They did suggest reseating the monitor cable but that didn't do anything.
Luckily I didn't disconnect anything or break/remove any stickers, so it's not void. Devout, who did you contact? I am chatting with customer service but they are absolutely no help.
The guy told me to reseat my harddrive. Seriously.
EDIT: Nevermind. I was just informed that a problematic LCD isn't covered by my warranty. So, uh, yeah.
EDIT: Jesus. A minute after I edited this the manager of the tech support place called me and said that the rep had given me incorrect information. So, I am sending it in.
